B.Sc. Nursing Course 2012-13

The Association of the Managements of Self Financing Nursing Colleges represents 27 Nursing Colleges in Kerala.

From 2007 onwards the Colleges were making admissions, purely on the basis of merit. Merit was being determined on the basis the marks obtained for the relevant subjects in the qualifying exams.

All students were to pay uniform fees.

The state Government had initiated negotiations for seat sharing with these Colleges and an understanding have been arrived at, whereby 50% of the seats will be permitted to be set apart for Government allotment.

All the students would pay the same fee.

Any seats remaining vacant after the last date fixed for the Commissioner to make allotments, those seats would be reverted to “open merit” category and would be filled by the Colleges. PREFACE We solicit the co-operation of all concerned.

e-mail : [email protected] www.amsfnck.in 5 B.Sc. Nursing Course 2012-13

The marks obtained for the qualifying exam will be subjected to the normalisation process as explained below: This process will be done taking into consideration the marks of those candidates who apply pursuant to this prospectus only.

The marks obtained by the students in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by various boards or authority shall be equated with the marks obtained by the students in the same subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by the Director of HSE, Kerala, by adopting the method of normalization.

Explanation:- Under the method of normalisation, the highest mark obtained by the students of various Boards in each subject shall be equated to the highest mark obtained by the students of the Kerala Higher Secondary Examination in that subject and the relative marks obtained by other students in that subject shall be determined accordingly.

Illustration: If the highest mark secured by the student of the Kerala state HSE, in Physics is 100 and the highest mark secured by a student of any other Board in the same subject is 90, both the highest marks will be considered to be equal to 100. If a student of the other board secures 60 marks in Physics when the highest mark in Physics in the same board is 90, the 60 marks will be considered to be equal to 66.66 marks as arrived at below:

100 X 60/ 90 = 66.66%

Those candidates, who have appeared for the qualifying exam of any state other than Kerala, will be treated at par with those students who have passed the Higher Secondary Exam of this state.
