Asl To3 : Stop Alla Chiusura Dei Servizi in Occasione Di 19 Diverse Feste Patronali

Practical Information – Dakar
Practical information – Dakar Dakar Dakar, capital of Senegal and one of the chief seaports on the western African coast. It is located midway between the mouths of the Gambia and Sénégal rivers on the south-eastern side of the Cape Verde Peninsula, close to Africa’s most westerly point. Dakar’s harbour is one of the best in Western Africa, being protected by the limestone cliffs of the cape and by a system of breakwaters. The city’s name comes from dakhar, a Wolof name for the tamarind tree, as well as the name of a coastal Lebu village that was located south of what is now the first pier. King Fahd Conference Centre The meetings will be held at the King Fahd Conference Centre which also houses the King Fahd Hotel. Those of you staying at the King Fahd Hotel can move from the lobby to the Conference Centre without leaving the building. The Yaas Hotel is the closest recommended hotel to the venue and is only 5 minutes away. Attached is a map of the King Fahd Conference Centre for reference. The Airport The main airport in Dakar is the Blaise Diagne International (DSS). Blaise Diagne International Airport is located on the east of the downtown of Dakar near the town of Diass. It is linked to the city via taxis, busses and shuttles. Travel to and from the Airport The Government of Senegal has kindly offered shuttle busses between the airport and the hotels recommended to the Secretariat. Please send Leah Krogsund ([email protected]) your arrival and departure dates and times should you require the use of these services. -

Ground Heat Storage Systems: perspective in Mediterranean environments Jessica Maria Chicco,1* Nicolò Giordano2, Giuseppe Mandrone1 1Department of Earth Sciences, University of Turin, Via Valperga Caluso 35, 10125 Italy 2Institut national de la recherche scientifique, Centre Eau Terre Environnement, 490 Rue de la Couronne, Québec, QC G1K 9A9, Canada * [email protected] 1. Introduction and state of the art Geothermal energy is one of the more environmentally friendly energy source, continuously expanding between the renewable energies, and is expected to more than triple until 2050 (International Energy Agency, 2018). In particular, cooling down is catching on. As a result of populations and incomes growth the use of air conditioners is becoming increasingly common, especially in commercial buildings and high-density residences of the hottest world regions, like Mediterranean areas. A new frontier is covered by ground heat storage systems such as Underground Thermal Energy Storage (UTES). These systems contribute to a large-scale energy efficiency and a long-term storage of thermal energy, significantly reducing environmental impacts, increasing the potential uptake and recovering heat flows that are otherwise lost. They are commonly used in Northern Europe (e.g. Norway, The Netherlands, Germany, Sweden) and in Northern America (e.g. Canada). Focusing on Mediterranean Countries, cooling demand is especially higher than the heating one. It is usually covered through refrigeration systems such as vapor compression devices, which employs electrically driven compressors to transfer energy (Jakubcionis and Carlsson 2018). One of the objective of this project, is then to implement the current studies, such as monitoring thermal underground thermal behavior and modelling of potential UTES resources, transferring this model to other hydro-geological contexts as well. -

SWE PIEDMONT Vs TUSCANY BACKGROUNDER
SWE PIEDMONT vs TUSCANY BACKGROUNDER ITALY Italy is a spirited, thriving, ancient enigma that unveils, yet hides, many faces. Invading Phoenicians, Greeks, Cathaginians, as well as native Etruscans and Romans left their imprints as did the Saracens, Visigoths, Normans, Austrian and Germans who succeeded them. As one of the world's top industrial nations, Italy offers a unique marriage of past and present, tradition blended with modern technology -- as exemplified by the Banfi winery and vineyard estate in Montalcino. Italy is 760 miles long and approximately 100 miles wide (150 at its widest point), an area of 116,303 square miles -- the combined area of Georgia and Florida. It is subdivided into 20 regions, and inhabited by more than 60 million people. Italy's climate is temperate, as it is surrounded on three sides by the sea, and protected from icy northern winds by the majestic sweep of alpine ranges. Winters are fairly mild, and summers are pleasant and enjoyable. NORTHWESTERN ITALY The northwest sector of Italy includes the greater part of the arc of the Alps and Apennines, from which the land slopes toward the Po River. The area is divided into five regions: Valle d'Aosta, Piedmont, Liguria, Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna. Like the topography, soil and climate, the types of wine produced in these areas vary considerably from one region to another. This part of Italy is extremely prosperous, since it includes the so-called industrial triangle, made up of the cities of Milan, Turin and Genoa, as well as the rich agricultural lands of the Po River and its tributaries.
