However, the Mekong Delta is considered to be vulnerable against climate change, such as severe flooding in the rainy season and saline water intrusion in the dry season, which have been caused by a sea level rise.

The region has huge economic potential and can create a breakthrough for Vietnam’s economic development. However, due to the special geo-historical conditions, political upheaval was tremendously popular during the late feudal period.
