Elane Goes Shopping

Elane goes shopping on Sunday with her daughter, Juliana. They go to the grocery store to buy some food for her family. Elane buys a loaf of bread, three cans of soup, a lot of fruits and vegetables, some pasta, and a reusable . Elane doesn’t buy a of plastic water . She wants to buy one bottle and it again and again. Elane brings cotton shopping to the grocery store because they are reusable. Plastic bags cost $0.05 cents each and Elane doesn’t need plastic bags. Elane goes to the checkout counter. The cashier asks “Do you want any bags?” Elane says, “No, thank you, I have my own bags.” Elane pays the cashier. The cashier helps Elane put the groceries and her new water bottle into her cotton bags. Elane is happy. She doesn’t have to pay extra for plastic bags and she doesn’t need to buy a case of plastic water bottles every Sunday. She can refill her new bottle everyday and reuse her cotton shopping bags every week. Elane saves money and uses less plastic.
