2 3 A MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT AND THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Hartford Public Library celebrated the accomplishments of hundreds of summer learners at the final game of the Hartford Yard Goats’ season. Thanks to an outstanding team effort, the Summer Learning Program was a great success with 1,140 registrations, 590 completions, 6,795 logged books, 706 events attended, and 477 activities completed. One great team deserves another, so it was fitting that we chose Dunkin Donuts Park as the venue for our season-ending community event.

Our talented and experienced library team works on the front lines and behind the scenes every day to make sure people using the library have a great experience and find the help they need. Our staff field a myriad of questions and requests every day— including helping people achieve their dreams of learning a new language or navigating the pathway to citizenship, finding the right audiobook for that long car trip, and being inspired by— and an inspiration to—our children and teens with creative maker experiences and homework help.

Have you heard of these great programs and initiatives? If not, stop in any branch or check out our website, www.hplct.org, for more information and to sign up for our weekly e-newsletter.
