In fact, a recent study conducted by GfK, a trusted international market research firm, found that the installation of ChargeItSpot charging stations in one retail chain brought numerous benefits to participating retail stores. The study found a 54 percent conversion rate of customers making a purchase while charging their phone, a 115 percent increase in customer in-store dwell time and a 29 percent increase in the value of each transaction. The GfK study estimated that ChargeItSpot stations generated an approximate $80,000 annual lift per unit. A significant part of ChargeItSpot’s appeal to brands, retailers and other venue owners, is the ability to fully customize the kiosk including the exterior wrap, and the touch screen interface – creating an innovative consumer engagement platform for branded messages and sponsorships. Executive Team Douglas Baldasare, CEO and founder of ChargeItSpot, oversees key client relationships, strategic partnerships, capital structure and allocation, and building a world-class management team. A committed entrepreneur, Mr. Baldasare served as an executive at The NewsMarket, a digital marketing firm backed by Apax Partners; Softbank Capital; and Battery Ventures. Previously, he worked at .com and Interbrand. He has an MBA from The Wharton School and a B.A. in marketing & finance from Emory University’s Goizueta School of Business. Sheri Tate, SVP, product strategy, is responsible for software and hardware development; mobile applications; and public relations and marketing. Ms. Tate has more than 11 years of experience in kiosk product management having helped grow DVDPlay (the precursor to RedBox) from eight people and 20 kiosks to more than 80 people and 2,500 kiosks over five years. She has a B.A. in Japanese studies from the University of and an MBA from Syracuse University. Jeffrey Bergeland, director of client success, manages all aspects of client relationships including communications, data collection and delivery, advertising and ensuring a successful and productive client partnership. He spent 11 years at Urban Outfitters in roles including senior store operations manager and district manager, and brings a passion for integrating technology into the retail experience. Jeff has a B.A. from the University of Colorado in Boulder.

Innovative Applications ChargeItSpot’s business partners are constantly finding innovative ways to further leverage their investment in charging stations.  Under Armour, the originator of performance footwear, apparel and equipment, is an early adopter of retail technology. It has installed charging stations in all 10 Under Armour brand house locations and two factory outlets. The retail innovator sends an opt-in SMS message sent to each person who charges their phone. Under Armour uses this SMS to promote app downloads of UA Record, its pioneering social network for health and fitness enthusiasts.  Neiman Marcus selected items from its Fall 2015 Lookbook as security images, helping them to gauge consumer preferences.  Caesars Casinos use ChargeItSpot kiosks as an exclusive perk for Total Rewards club members. In addition, the units serve as important customer data collection points for obtaining “hard-to- gather,” personal information such as email addresses. Caesar’s Entertainment plans to use the email data it captures from its 30 million Total Rewards clients to replace 10 million pieces of direct mail it sends annually to club members.
