Costessey Breakfast & Afterschool/Holiday Clubs The staff and committee would like to welcome you to Costessey Out of school Clubs. We hope that your stay with us will be an enjoyable one for both you and your child. Costessey Preschool opened in 1973 as a registered charity. We are registered with OFSTED to provide full day care for preschool children and out of school clubs for children under 10 years old. We offer breakfast, after school and holiday clubs, collecting children from Costessey Infant & Junior Schools and St Helens Preschool. Our aims and objectives Our aim is to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for your children, where we can play, learn, and have fun together in an atmosphere of mutual respect. We encourage children to develop new skills, make new friends and through our freely chosen activities, encourage children’s social skills whilst promoting self-esteem and confidence. Our objective is to enhance the development and education of preschool children, aged 3 and 4 years, working within the statutory guidelines of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and provide fun, stimulating and interesting activities for children under 10 years old. Each child will be treated and respected as an individual and his/her needs will come first. Our policy is to offer equal opportunities to all children and their families. We welcome children with disabilities and learning difficulties. The staff We aim to continuously train and equip our staff to ensure that we maintain our commitment to provide high standards of care and education. Minimum ratio requirements are 1 adult to 8 children aged 3 years and over, however our aim is to work above these requirements and have an extra member of staff available. There will be at least 2 members of staff on duty always when between one and sixteen children are attending. The person in charge holds a level 3 qualification. All staff members hold First aid certificates, have received child protection training and have been deemed suitable to care for your children (DBS Check). The Committee As a registered charity, we are run by a management committee which is made up of parents of children attending, staff members and friends from the local community – all names are displayed on the notice board in the setting. Committee meetings are held each term to discuss the general running of the group. November of each year an Annual General Meeting is held where new members may be elected and current step down. The committee helps to organise fundraising events to provide extra funds for equipment used by your children. Being a committee member gives you a chance to become directly involved. If you are interested in becoming a committee member, please speak to a member of staff or email [email protected].
