The building would have been around 40m high. Planning permission and listed building were granted in November 2013 ( ref no’s 103766/FO/2013/C2 and 103769/LO/2013/C2 ) for the conversion of the listed building and the erection of a 20 storey building to create a 258 bedroom hotel with a ground floor bar 117m). These permissions have now expired. However, the principle of development on the site, including a new build hotel of 20 storeys and conversion of the existing listed building into a hotel use has been established. This current application comprises an updated version of the 2013 scheme by the same architect for a different hotel operator.
