Bueno, el motivo principal de recopilar los mejores artículos en formato ebook, es por homenajear a esta güeb, que nació allá por verano del 1999 y ya tiene (a fecha de escribir esto) nada más y nada menos que 18 años de vida. Que se dice pronto. Mucho curro, hecho meramente por amor al arte, muchas horas de fines de semana y aprovechando el escaso tiempo libre que dejaban los estudios (antes) y el trabajo (ahora), para hacer lo que nos mola de verdad: crear contenido underground. En estos artículos leeréis (o releeréis si sois fans amorfianos y seguís la güeb desde hace tiempo) unos puntos de vista diferentes a los de los mierdos de desinformación habituales y los de la gente masilla. Estos artículos os divertirán, harán pensar, reír, os provocarán, os cabrearán (si sois unos rancios, es bastante probable que os cabreen) y hasta puede que incluso aprendáis algo que no supiérais. Para eso se escribieron. Así que ese es otro motivo: para que estas ideas se difundan. Por eso ofrecemos el ebook de forma gratuita: queremos que lleguen al mayor número de lectores posible. También queremos ofrecer un nuevo medio por el que leer AMORFOS: Leerlo de manera offline. Creemos que la lectura física todavía no ha desaparecido. La pantalla del ordenador no es el medio ideal para leer, cansa mucho la vista, y quizás después de una larga jornada laboral, lo que menos apetezca es plantarse de nuevo frente a otra pantalla de ordenador. También da la opción a quién se quiera imprimir los artículos para leerlos en papel de forma física, y así poder palpar y sentir los artículos amorfianos con un nuevo 8 9 sentido: el tacto. Para los coleccionistas les puede hacer ilusión tener impresos los mejores artículos amorfianos, y así tenerlos a mano en su librería. Quién quiera ver las fotos, imágenes y vídeos, así como clickar en todos los links, que mejor visite los artículos en la güeb (usando el buscador en AMORFOS poniendo el título se encuentran fácilmente). También desde el índice de este ebook, si pulsas en el título de cada artículo te redirige al link del artículo online. Eso es útil también si te ha molado un artículo y quieres compartirlo por las heces sociales. En avril 1999, l’Amérique est profondément bouleversée par la fusillade de Columbine. Deux élèves du lycée de la ville, lourdement armés, y massacrent douze adolescents et un enseignant avant de se donner la mort. Une tragédie d’autant plus effroyable qu’elle ne résulte pas d’un accès de folie : les meurtriers avaient élaboré un plan relaté en détail dans leur journal. La violence inouïe de cet acte conduira les enquêteurs à se pencher sur leur personnalité et leur prétendue appartenance à un cercle gothique. Marilyn MANSON est alors fortement controversé : les déséquilibrés sont considérés comme des admirateurs de celui-ci, qui les aurait induit à commettre ces atrocités. Il est vrai que le personnage se distingue volontiers dans la provocation, à commencer par un nom d’artiste qui juxtapose le prénom d’une icône du cinéma et le nom du tueur Charles Manson, qui a commandité l’assassinat de l’actrice Sharon Tate, alors enceinte. Cependant il apparaîtra que les psychopathes n’étaient pas fans de MANSON.

    Alicja Bemben Akademia Techniczno ‑Humanistyczna Katedra Anglistyki MM + NK = WM, czyli dlaczego Marilyn Manson zakochałby się w nadkobiecie Ale kiedyś, w czasach lepszych niż obecny rozkład, poja‑ wi się on, zbawiciel, człowiek wielkiej miłości i pogardy, stwórca, którego nieodparta siła nie pozwoli mu pozostać bezczynnym, którego samotność ludzie mylnie postrze‑ gają jako ucieczkę od rzeczywistości – podczas gdy jest to tylko jego sposób poznawania i przyjmowania rzeczy‑ wistości, tak więc, kiedy pewnego dnia znów się pojawi, przyniesie im wybawienie, ocali świat od przekleństwa idei panującej dotychczas. Człowiek przyszłości, który wybawi nas nie tylko od dotychczasowej idei, ale tak‑ że tego co musi z niej wyniknąć, wielkiego niesmaku, nihilizmu, samounicestwienia; on będzie niczym bicie dzwonów w południe, uwolni nasze umysły, przywróci światu cel, a człowiekowi nadzieję; ten Antychryst i an‑ tynihilista; zwycięzca Boga i nicości – pewnego dnia musi nadejść1. U schyłku XIX wieku przytoczone słowa stanowiły podsumowanie zapa‑ trywań Fryderyka Nietzschego na intelektualno ‑ideologiczny klimat panu‑ jący w ówczesnej Europie. Sara Ann Thomas MA (Hons) Submitted in fulfilment for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy Faculty of Arts University of Glasgow January 2009 © Sara Thomas 2009 Abstract This thesis examines the subject in Popular American Metal music and culture during the period 1994-2004, concentrating on key artists of the period: Korn, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Tura Satana and My Ruin. Starting from the premise that the subject is consistently portrayed as being at a time of crisis, the thesis draws on textual analysis as an under appreciated approach to popular music, supplemented by theories of stardom in order to examine subjectivity. The study is situated in the context of the growing area of the contemporary gothic, and produces a model of subjectivity specific to this period: the contemporary gothic subject. This model is then used throughout to explore recurrent themes and richly symbolic elements of the music and culture: the body, pain and violence, the grotesque and the monstrous, and the figure of the child, representing a usage of the contemporary gothic that has not previously been attempted. Attention is also paid throughout to the specific late capitalist American cultural context in which the work of these artists is situated, and gives attention to the contradictions inherent in a musical form which is couched in commodity culture but which is highly invested in notions of the ‘Alternative’. In the first chapter I propose the model of the contemporary gothic subject for application to the work of Popular Metal artists of the period, drawing on established theories of the contemporary gothic and Michel Foucault’s theory of confession.
