Tasting Notes Its weighty, complex aroma calls to mind both dried and ripened fruits, and even cacao and espresso, and its rich heaviness and slight bitterness expand in the mouth with a velvety smoothness. The aftertaste is a pleasant and expansive woodiness akin to the fragrance of the finest aloes wood, and a soft smokiness.

This commemorative whisky is bottled in a crystal bottle designed around the iconic lips and tongue logo. The bottle features the logo cut in relief on the front of the bottle, and a diamond-shaped decorative stopper. The bottle comes in a stylish box modeled after a black sofa. Bottled in 2012. Each expression was named after a certain decade and was a re-creation of the typical Macallan style at that time. The series starts with a thin and fruity expression in the “Twenties”, spicier in the “Thirties” and taking a sharp turn into characteristic peatiness in the “Forties”, reflecting the toll taken in the war’s time. The “Fifties” concludes the series with a more rounded pal- ate, a thicker body and heavier sherry influence, much more like the Macallan that we all come to know of nowadays.
