• 144 deer harvested in WCCSP during the 2017/2018 hunting season (66 bucks and 78 does)

• The Park consistently ranks in the top 5 public lands for total annual deer harvest

• Delaware’s Wildlife Management Zone 1A, which includes the Park and Northern New Castle County, has the highest deer density in the State.

• Deer prefer to browse on native plants, causing a lack of young oaks and other quality tree species, providing an advantage to invasive plants
