Structure of Youth Football 2017 -18 Season Age Group by Birth Years Pee Wee Football • U5 (players born on or after January 1, 2012) Non-Competitive Football • U7 (players born on or after January 1, 2010) • U9 (players born on or after January 1, 2008) • U11 (players born on or after January 1, 2006) Competitive Football • U13 (players born on or after January 1, (2004) • U15 (players born on or after January 1, (2002) 2 BERMUDA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION P O Box HM 745 Hamilton HM CX Tel: 441-295-2199 Fax: 441-295-0773 E-Mail: [email protected] • U17+ (players born on or after January 1, (2000) + 6 players on roster born on or after January 1, 1999, but only 3 on the field at any one time The following Regulations relate to Clubs / Teams participating in the Bermuda Football Association Football Leagues and Cup Competitions for the upcoming season. Management The control and management of all competitions shall be vested in the BFA’s Youth Committee. Any matters not covered in these regulations shall be decided upon by the BFA’s Youth Committee All matches played in the BFA Youth Divisions will be played under the authority of the Association and in accordance with the Laws of the Game as published by FIFA (any exceptions are noted in these rules) Exceptions to FIFA Laws The Youth Committee would like to highlight the following areas which are variations of the FIFA Laws of the Game. Age Groups Youth Football will be distinguished in three categories: Pee Wee Football U5 Non-Competitive Football U7, U9 & U11 Competitive Football U13, U15 & U17 Leagues starting in September with weekly or bi-weekly games until the following March/April of the following year Pee Wee Football • A Schedule will be produced, but there will be no league standings Non-Competitive Football • A Schedule will be produced, but there will be no league standings • A completed copy of the Team sheet must be completed and submitted to Match Official a minimum of 30-minutes prior to the start of the match Competitive Football • A Schedule will be produced, and league standings will be recorded • A completed copy of the Team sheet must be completed and submitted to Match Official minimum of 30-minutes prior to the start of the match • U13 Gregory Grimes Open Cup & U15 Leonard Holder-Deroza Open Cup; winners announced and awards presented 3 BERMUDA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION P O Box HM 745 Hamilton HM CX Tel: 441-295-2199 Fax: 441-295-0773 E-Mail: [email protected] • League and K.O. Cup will be competitive with winners announced and awards presented Details and results of the match are to be confirmed immediately upon completion of the match between each team official and the Match Commissioner; i.e. (score of the match, substitutes, goal scorers, sanctions). If no Match Commissioner is in attendance, it is the Home Team’s responsibility to collect the Visitor’s team sheet and submit all sheets and results to the BFA office via email at [email protected] or by hand to the BFA Office. A club can submit a registration for a second team per age group during the Registration Period, which will be allowed based on space availability of the age group/division and resources. Registration Criteria A Team will only be considered registered, when they have the minimum amount players for the team fully registered, Team Registration Form is complete and submitted, BFA Registered Coach is identified and all fees are paid. Late Team Registration (2-15 August) $200 If a club has not entered a team during the Registration period, they will only be allowed to register a team based on availability of the space in that age group/division at the time they have their full team registration criteria submitted to the BFA. 4 BERMUDA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION P O Box HM 745 Hamilton HM CX Tel: 441-295-2199 Fax: 441-295-0773 E-Mail: [email protected] Third Team Registration (2-15 August) $200 A club wishing to enter a (3) Third team can only do so if they have fulfilled the full requirements of registering (2) two team by the Initial Registration date, they can request to enter a third team during the Late Registration period. This third team is not guaranteed. It will be depended on availability of space of the age group/division and resources available for Youth Football for that season. Teams will only be registered after the Late Team Registration date by approval of the Youth Committee in collaboration with the Player Development Committee. Player Registration (All Age Groups) $5 • A Player is considered fully registered, when the BFA website is updated with the player’s name, birth date and passport type photo; the player registration fee is paid in full and a BFA player registration form is on file at the BFA. If either of these items are outstanding, the player will NOT be considered registered and is NOT eligible to play in the leagues until all items are complete. • Once a player has registered for a club, he has no need to re-register unless the player: o Is no longer included in his club team’s roster of players because they have the maximum number of players for his age group. The player is entitled to register with any club in his age group that has not filled the maximum number of spots on their team roster once approved by the Youth Committee. o Is no longer young enough to play youth football for that club. The player must then register as an adult player. • If a player transfers from one club to another then he must re-register. • Under no circumstances can a visitor to Bermuda register and/or play in any BFA Youth Football Competitions. ALL players who play in the BFA Competitions MUST be listed on the BFA Official Roster for that team. Those players not listed on the BFA Official Rosters is not allowed to participate in that match. If a player is playing above their age group, it is the responsibility of the club / team to provide a copy of the BFA official roster the player is listed on to verify the player is registered for that club and eligible to play in that match. Club with more than one team registered in a division - a player can only play for the team for which he is registered in the division. A Player cannot change between teams in the same age group The players of a team that has withdrawn from a Non-Competitive Football division during the season are permitted to register with any club/team that has sufficient space on their roster, i.e. this player does not cause the team to exceed the maximum number of players allowed.
