April 6, 2016 Sharron Angle Responds To Satanic Depiction “It’s Tough, It’s Competitive, I Wish Them Well”

Reno, Nevada: - After ignoring a recent cartoon published in the bar tabloid Reno News and Review that featured a distasteful image of Sharron Angle, a local television news reporter investigated after the negative reaction in the community, and asked for a comment from the campaign.

Sharron Angle Gets The Joke: “I have grandchildren, so I know what it’s like when they start coloring and making things up like they do, although mine wouldn’t draw anything like this. I get that it’s a joke, I have a sense of humor, however, the voters in Nevada do not see it that way. People have been calling me with comments such as, “a very bigoted article, very offensive in poor taste”, or “for a paper that supposedly defends women they sure are good at attacking them”. While I appreciate the emotional defense from my supporters, I know they also understand not to believe anything in the news about me, they generally make things up, like this.”

Two Papers In One Bed: There is a long standing intimate relationship between the editorial staff of the Reno Gazette Journal (the paper that published a completely false story about Sharron Angle at the Nevada Legislature in 2015 on March 22, now in the USA Today), and the Reno News and Review. “It’s not really a campaign issue, I value the First Amendment to the Constitution as much as the Second, everyone knows that. I just wonder if the executives at the USA Today and the News and Review are aware of this cozy relationship between these two editorial staffs, or maybe it’s just a joke, I don’t know. It’s the voting public that needs to be aware. They both seem to have declining readership, so it’s tough and competitive, I realize this. I hope both companies figure it out and I wish them well.”
