Marco Fusi is a violinist, violist, composer and passionate advocate of the music of our time; numerous collaborations with young and established composers led him to present the rst public executions of Billon, Scelsi, Sciarrino, Eötvös, Cendo, Ferneyhough. URBAN SPACE RESEARCH Presentation of a research project on the soundscape of the city of Naples edited by Napolisoundscape, Dario Casillo and Cristian Sommaiuolo

Napolisoundscape is a research project on the soundscape of D.Casillo and C.Sommaiuolo born with the intent to restore dignity to the 'background noise' of the city. The main idea is the sound map of the city of Naples to build a phono-archive photographs produced by means of regular and systematic recordings of the urban soundscape. A sound archive also always available to maintain essential sounds endangered. Born in 2013, the project is inspired by the work of the Canadian scholar Murray Schafer and WSP (World SoundScape Project). The study of the soundscape is a cross-sector research, useful for architectural, urban, sociological, anthropological, historical, etc ..

Hidden Soundscape_studio # 2 / Happening is an installation realized by Phonesthesia (D.Casillo and C. Sommaiuolo). An electromagnet system spreads in the space around the work some recordings of the soundscape of the city of Naples in the form of electromagnetic waves. The auditory exploration of the surrounding space is a performative metaphor, looking for hidden sound sources of the deafening silence of the city.

Resonance is the title of the concert tonight because the music program "echoes" of the subtle dierences of the dierent styles and dierent authors in the program. It combines well-known and consolidated archive tracks (Castiglioni, Donatoni), to more recent pieces of great eectiveness and sound yield: so resonate and coexist, for example, the acoustic soul of the piece of pepper with the electronics and bold American Whiteley. Until you get to works of young students specially composed for this concert and for this ensemble, the MartucciContemporanEnsemble, a group strongly supported the conservatory, specializing in contemporary repertoire and born to "work" and perform pieces composed by the students. He concludes the concert a live soundtrack of a video work and "visionary" performance of the laptop SonicOverLoad trio.

The meeting oers an analysis of some of the working methods applied to the contemporary repertoire linked to the experience of the ensemble Ars Ludi and Ready-Made and Gianluca Ruggeri: rhythmic training, the use of unconventional techniques, dramaturgy of gesture and movement. The authors will be treated, in addition to those provided in the concert program, Francesco Filidei, Steve Reich, John Cage and .

Ars Ludi is a percussion ensemble variable organic that from the outset, (founded in 1987 by Antonio Caggiano and Gianluca Ruggeri), he embarked on an artistic itinerary active on two interpretative dimensions. On the one hand, the proposition of the contemporary repertoire for percussion, realized with an activity international concert, interpreting composers such J.Cage, K.Stockhausen, G.Battistelli, L.Andriessen, E.Varese, S.Reich, G.Scelsi , L.Berio, etc., and encouraging with commissions and premieres, the repertoire of Italian authors (L.Ceccarelli, P.Esposito, M.Lupone, L.Bianchini, M.Tadini, MC ardi, F. The basic core of the group consists of Antonio Caggiano, Rodolfo Rossi and Gianluca Ruggeri who also teaching activities at the Conservatory of Latina and Rome.

Founded in 2002 by Valerio Borgianelli Spina and Stefano Sanzò, Ready-Made Ensemble is an idea of making music and entertainment, a modular group whose stable workforce is made up of singers, in addition to often instrumentalists. Numerous interests characterize the repertoire of ready-made ensemble: early music, minimalism, the provocations of the vanguards and the concert intended as a dramatic action. The 10 vocal performers of Ready-Made Ensemble are complete artists, as well as singers also instrumentalists, composers and choral conductors. The director of the group's Gianluca 4 Ruggeri.

The program includes two of the distinctive features that characterize contemporary music writing. On the one hand, supporting a code sedimented in tradition, it follows a line that aims to continue the evolution of musical notation; the other follows a direction that emphasizes gestural research, performative, entering the realm of drama, or rather, the sound theater. Of course, all the songs that are realized in the time of the concert are already dramatic works, but not necessarily the gestural aspect becomes the aesthetic premise. The performance of songs rather, are a complete authorial interpretation that transcends the mere writing of the score. Writing Lang, Feldman, Sharman and Cardi moves again into the primeval language of music, practicing counterpoint although with dierent processes and equally dierent paths. Writing Grisey and Battistelli want to force the above code, bringing the sound into a new space where you can expand the size of the action and of the stamp. The rst engineer-stimulating visual imagery, the latter retracing almost an archaic dimension of sound, in the world of Greek tragedy.
