Workhorse at your service! Using the DHC-2 Beaver as a basis, the DHC-3 Otter was designed in 1951 to be a larger and more powerful short take-off and landing (STOL) aircraft. Originally fitted with a Pratt & Whitney R-1340 engine, the majority of Otters operating today have undergone a turbine conversion.

Helping Communities, One Drop at a Time This powerhouse aircraft was built around strength and durability for operation in severe conditions. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney Twin Wasp R-2800 radial engines it is capable of scooping 5,455 liters (1,200 Imp gal/1440 US gal) of water in 12 seconds from a water source. Firefighting Essential The CL-215T was designed to be a turbine update for the piston powered CL-215. Initially Canadair refitted two aircraft to turbine configuration in 1989 to act as develop- ment and technical demonstrator aircraft. The first of these prototypes flew on June 8 that year.
