[email protected] Abstract: We report herein the southernmost record of the Hudsonian Godwit (Limosa haemastica), at two localities in the Antarctic: Esperanza/Hope Bay (January 2005) and 25 de Mayo/King George Island (October 2008). On both occasions a pair of specimens with winter plumage was observed. The Hudsonian Godwit Limosa haemastica (Linnaeus tide and each time birds were feeding in the intertidal 1758) is a neartic migratory species that breeds in Alaska zone. These individuals showed the winter plumage and Canada during summer and spends its non-breeding pattern: dark reddish chest and white ventral region, black period in the southernmost regions of South America primaries and tail feathers, a long upturned bill pink at during the boreal winter.
