Bills vs. Chiefs 2020: game time, TV schedule and how to watch live online Everything you need to know to watch the Chiefs take on the Bills in the AFC Championship

The Game Just one step remains until LV.

The and are meeting at to determine the AFC’s representative to the NFL championship in Tampa on February 7. Kickoff is set for 5:40 p.m. Arrowhead Time. The game will be broadcast on CBS — locally on KCTV/5.

With a 14-2 record, the Chiefs finished the regular season as AFC West champions, entering the postseason as the AFC’s first seed — while Buffalo’s 13-3 mark gave them the AFC East and the second seed. Since then, the Bills have defeated the 27-24 in the Wild Card round and the 17-3 in the Divisional round. With the only AFC bye, the Chiefs were able to sit out Wild Card Weekend before defeating the 22-17 last Sunday.

Two of the league’s best young quarterbacks will be leading their respective offenses. In 2020, reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes completed 66.3% of his passes for 4,740 yards, 38 touchdowns and six interceptions — good for a passer rating of 108.2. The Bills’ Josh Allen completed 69.2% of his for 4,544 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, giving him a passer rating of 107.2.

With these two quarterbacks, it is not a surprise that the league’s top two receivers will be appearing in the game. In his first year with the Bills, sixth-year wide receiver Stefon Diggs led the league with 1,535 yards (and eight touchdowns) on 127 receptions — followed by Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce, whose 1,416 yards also set an all-time NFL receiving record for tight ends. In his fifth consecutive 1,000-yard season — another record for his position — he scored 11 touchdowns.

Now in his 22nd season as a head coach — his eighth with the Chiefs — is coaching his eighth conference championship game. While he’s the only head coach in NFL history to have brought two different teams to three-year runs hosting a conference title game, last season’s victory over the was only his second career win in one of them. Nonetheless, he’ll be looking to advance his postseason record to 17-14 — and give the Chiefs a chance to become the first team since 2004 to win consecutive NFL championships.

Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott is another of the many NFL head coaches who can count Reid among his mentors. He spent a full decade with the as an assistant under Reid, eventually becoming the Eagles’ defensive coordinator before he was fired after the 2010 season. In his fourth year with the Bills, he is seeking to improve his postseason record to 3-2 — and bring Buffalo to their first Super Bowl appearance since the 1993 season.

The two coaches have met twice before. The Bills defeated the Chiefs 16-10 in 2017, but Kansas City picked up a 26-17 victory over Buffalo in October.

This is the third time the two teams have met for a chance to play in the Super Bowl. After the 1966 season, the Chiefs beat the Bills 31-7 to reach what was then called the AFL-NFL Championship — which we now know as . 27 years later, Buffalo knocked off Kansas City 30-13 on the way to Super Bowl XXLVIII. 27 years after that... well, here we are.
