FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 1/31/18 LOS ANGELES RAMS TO HOST KANSAS CITY CHIEFS IN MEXICO CITY IN 2018 Building off the tremendous success of the 2016 and 2017 games in Mexico, the NFL will return to Mexico City in 2018 when the Los Angeles Rams host the Kansas City Chiefs at Estadio Azteca, NFL Commissioner ROGER GOODELL announced today at his press conference in Minneapolis in advance of Super Bowl LII. The date and time of the game will be determined in conjunction with the release of the NFL schedule this spring. The game in Mexico is the fourth international game confirmed for 2018, adding to the three previously announced games in London, and a testament to the NFL’s commitment to growing the game beyond the borders of the United States. In November, the NFL and Mexico’s Ministry of Tourism announced an agreement to play three NFL regular- season games from 2019 to 2021. The previous agreement covered games from 2016 to 2018. “Over the past two seasons, we have seen the extraordinary passion that exists for NFL football in Mexico,” Goodell said. “We are excited for another memorable event at Estadio Azteca as the Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs head to Mexico City in 2018.” The Rams and Chiefs will both play their first regular-season game in Mexico next season. The Chiefs played a preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys in Monterrey, Mexico on August 5, 1996, earning a 32-6 win over the Dallas Cowboys. “Southern California and Mexico share strong historic and cultural ties and this game will provide an opportunity to celebrate the special connection between these two regions,” said Rams Owner/Chairman E. STANLEY KROENKE. “It is great to be participating in the NFL’s international games again and working with the league to grow the game abroad. Mexico has one of the largest NFL fan bases in the world and we are excited to bring Rams football to the millions of fans there.” “We are thrilled to be a part of the NFL’s international initiatives once again, and we are excited to face the Rams at historic Estadio Azteca this fall,” said Kansas City Chiefs Chairman & CEO CLARK HUNT. “The support for the NFL in Mexico has grown significantly since our initial trip in 1996. We look forward to returning to Mexico and connecting with a new generation of fans this season.” Fans interested in receiving information about tickets for the game, which will go on sale this summer, should register their interest at www.nfl.com/mexico/registration. #1 - Rungnado May Day Stadium (150,000 capacity) The monumental Rungrado May Day Stadium in Pyongyang, North Korea was built in 1989 and seats a staggering 150,000 people. Resembling a blossom flower, it has 16 arches arranged in a ring. In 1995, an incredible 190,000 people crammed in for a professional wrestling event. It is not the only large stadium in Pyongyang - the Kim-Il Sung Stadium, with a capacity of 70,000, also resides there. #2 - Salt Lake Stadium (120,000) Salt Lake Stadium (officially known as Yuva Bharati Krirangan, Stadium of the Indian Youth) is located in Salt Lake City, a district of Kolkata in India. Sanders, Dean of Graduate Studies Date ABSTRACT This thesis aims to provide historical context for the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961 which allowed professional sports teams to collectively negotiate television contracts and equally share in the revenues. According to Immanuel Wallerstein, the state crafting legislation to allow an anticompetitive business practice is an example of a basic contradiction of capitalism being reconciled. Researching the development of the SBA unveils two historically significant narratives. The first is the fact that antitrust legislator Emanuel Celler crafted the act with the intent of providing the National Football League competition although the act unintentionally aided the formation of a professional football monopoly. The other is that the act legalized a collectivist business practice in a time of anticommunist fervor and was written by a legislator with well-documented anticommunist credentials.

2017 NFL Mexico Game Security Policies and Prohibited Items To provide a safer environment for the public and to expedite fan entry into stadiums, the NFL limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into stadiums. Visit nfl.com/allclear for more details. Security screening at Estadio Azteca will be significantly heightened for the game. All items carried by spectators will be carefully inspected and potentially not permitted into the stadium. Consistent with all NFL games, the NFL strongly encourages fans not to bring any type of bag, but if necessary, those outlined below are permissible: • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” OR • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar), AND • Small clutch bags, 4.5” x 6.5”, with or without a handle or strap, can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bag options. • An exception will be made for medically necessary items after thorough inspection at a gate designated for this purpose. Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to: purses or bags larger than 4.5” x 6.5”, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags/draw string bags that are not clear or exceed 12” x 6” x 12”, luggage of any kind, computer bags, binocular cases and camera bags, and large traditional seat cushions that have pockets, zippers, compartments or covers.
