RMG MOTORSPORT, PRESS RELEASE 5TH MAY 2014

The International finance company, The Robert McAngus Group has entered into negotiations with Francis Tuthill Ltd. (Tuthill ) of Wardington, Oxfordshire, England to purchase a Tuthill factory built R-GT3 Rally Car to be utilized by their motor sport completion division RMG MOTORSPORT. This car will be one of only two cars manufactured and homologated this year by Tuthill Porsche, for the FIA Rally Championship in the new GT class.

The car will participate in tarmac stages of the championship next year, including Monte Carlo, Tour de Corse, and San Remo, with the opening event anticipated to be the Rallye International du Valais in Switzerland. The homologation of the Porsche 997 R-GT3 by Tuthill marks Porsche’s return to professional rally competition, a form of motorsport the brand hasn’t been involved in since the early ‘80s.

Tuthill takes a full blown Porsche GT3 CUP race car packing a 4.0-liter Flat 6, and gives it the full rally treatment – making it appear as if the days of Group B never ended. To protect the driver and navigator from the many dangers of rallying, an FIA-spec steel rollcage is bolted to the car’s aluminum frame. The car’s 4.0-liter Flat- 6 pumps out 493 bhp, and features FIA-mandated 34-mm air restrictors to keep the R-GT in class. Weight is also highly regulated, and is kept at a healthy 1300 kg (3000 lbs.). The GT3 RS 4.0 is the final evolution of the 997 and features a 4.0 litre engine. The engine itself uses the crankshaft from the RSR with increased stroke dimensions (from 76.4mm to 80.4mm). This change has increased the power to 368 kW (500 PS; 493 bhp) at 8250 rpm and 460 N·m (339 lbf·ft) of torque at 5750 rpm. Chassis development has been influenced by the GT2 RS and uses bits from other RS 911s. Front dive planes give additional down force up front. The car weighs in at 1,370 kilograms (3,000 lb), giving it a power-to-weight ratio of 365 bhp per ton. Performance is a 3.9 second 0-100 kilometers per hour (62 mph) time and a top speed of 193 miles per hour (311 km/h). The Porsche 911 GT3 is a higher performance version of the Porsche 911 sports car. It is the latest in a line of high-performance models, beginning with the 1973 911 RS. The GT3, named after the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) GT class it was designed to compete in, which had a 3.6-litre naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine, based on the unit used in the Porsche 962 and Porsche 911 GT1 race cars.

The car will be driven by Robert (Bob) McAngus and navigated by Patrick (Pat) Bartlett in the MSA Tarmac Championship and various select events in Europe such as the Monte Carlo, Tour de Corse, and San Remo. Both McAngus and Bartlett have vast experience in motorsport having competed in Ford, , Porsche, , Peugeot and in rallying in many countries around the world and both look forward to participating in both the domestic and the European events.
