Welcome/Introductions [If there are new people in your group, give brief introductions.]

Remind the group of DiscipleGroup Guidelines

DISCIPLEMAKER QUESTIONS • What has changed in your life because of what you learned last week? • Has God placed someone in your life outside this group that you need to invest in? • How do you think God wants you to do this?

Ask a “hook question” to get the group going. • Share a time when the minute you met someone, you knew you would be friends.

Share background for the story. Last week we looked at Paul’s extended mission work in the city of Corinth and the beginning of his relationship with Aquila and Priscilla. This week we will look at Aquila and Priscilla’s continued disciplemaking.

Tell the story – Acts 18:18-28 This week’s story is about Aquila and Priscilla helping Apollos. [Tell the story with your open on your lap to the passage.]

Rebuild the story [Group members tell the story together, one piece at a time, based on what they remember.]

Read the story out loud – Read Acts 18:18-28 from the Bible. [The scripture may have more details. Were there any important details left out of the telling or retelling that you discover in the scripture?]

Discuss these questions: 1. What do you learn about God, or the Holy Spirit in this story? 2. What do you learn about the characters in the story? 3. What stood out to you in the story? 4. How have you used your home for ministry? How can you use your home for ministry?

Ask someone to retell the story.

Assign next week’s passage. Acts 19:1-20. God at Work in Ephesus.

Close in Prayer.

October 8, 2017- Aquila and Priscilla Disciple Apollos [This page is to help you sharpen your skills as a DiscipleGroup Leader. Each week we will include concepts, challenges, and resources designed to assist you as you lead and shepherd your group and grow as a disciple yourself. Also, we have added comments (enclosed in brackets [ ] ) on the Leader Guide.]

Abiding [grow as a disciple yourself] • Spend some time studying Aquila and Priscilla on Biblegateway.com. If you are married, think about how you and your spouse work together in ministering to others and how you use your home as a base of ministry. If you are single, how are you using your home and relationships to reach others and minister to others. Spend some time praying about your own personal activity in hospitality ministry,

Leading [learn to facilitate your group more effectively] • The fourth discussion questions for this story are: How have you used your home for ministry? How can you use your home for ministry? Allow time for the discussion of these questions. It is a good opportunity for people to share how they are or are not using their home for ’s work. You may have people who have never considered the idea of using their home for outreach or hospitality ministry.

Shepherding [know the sheep, feed the sheep, lead the sheep, protect the sheep] • Are you doing a good at investing? Are you investing in the lives of everyone in your group? Are you expanding your ministry by encouraging others to also be investing in someone?
