The Amateur Rib Cook-Off Competition is open to everyone and follows the KCSB guidelines. Registration starts at 9 a.m. at Third and Douglas in downtown Yankton with a turn in time at approxi- mately 4:30 p.m. First place will be awarded with a $400 cash prize, second place with $300 and third place with $200. In its fourth year, Rockin’ Ribfest has become a popular one-day event located on Third Street in Historic Downtown Yankton. Last year’s event drew more than 8,500 people to the area. Yankton’s “Biggest ” features free live music, a free Kids’ Playland, an Amateur Rib Cook-Off Competition and rib vendors from across the Midwest. Rockin’ Ribfest will runs from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. A free classic rock ‘n roll concert opening with Rust will kick off the event.
