Ford Expands Regional Takata Airbag Inflator Safety Recall At the request of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Ford is expanding its regional recall on Takata passenger-side airbag inflators. This recall includes approximately 38,500 vehicles in the United States and federalized territories, an additional 13,000 vehicles approximately. This brings the total number of Ford vehicles being recalled for all issues related to Takata airbag inflators to approximately 98,000. This expanded recall includes certain 2004-2005 Ford Rangers and 2005-2006 Ford GTs originally sold, or ever registered, in Florida, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. It adds certain zip codes with high absolute humidity conditions in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Guam, Saipan and American Samoa, per NHTSA’s request. Affected vehicles include certain 2004-2005 Ford Ranger vehicles built at Edison Assembly Plant, Aug. 12, 2003 to March 1, 2004; certain 2004-2005 Ford Ranger vehicles built at Twin Cities Assembly Plant, May 21, 2003 to May 4, 2005; and certain 2005-2006 Ford GT vehicles built at Wixom Assembly Plant, Feb. 11, 2005 to Jan. 30, 2006. Dealers will replace the airbag inflator at no cost to the customer. EDISON MASTER PLAN INTRODUCTION 1.0 Introduction This Master Plan has been prepared in accordance with the requirements set forth in New Jersey Statutes Annotated 40:55D and under the direction of the Master Plan Advisory Committee. It is intended to provide a careful assessment of the existing use of land and serve as a guide for future growth and development in Edison. Edison last adopted a comprehensive Master Plan in 1989. A municipal master plan provides a vision for the future growth of a community. It analyzes statistical trends, problems and opportunities, and provides a methodology and offers recommendations to address those issues and opportunities. The Master Plan strives to examine the rate and nature of past and present development, the future development potential under existing zoning parameters and environmental constraints, and the capacity of existing infrastructure to serve projected growth. A Land Use Plan balancing Edison’s growth potential with its growth capacity through recommended changes to Land Use and Zoning Ordinance as well as a Future Land Use map has been provided. The Future Land Use plan specifically calls for anti-sprawl initiatives based on the design principles of New Urbanism. Numerous public meetings were held to elicit public comment and address public concern relative to land planning in Edison. The Master Plan Advisory Committee, Open Space Advisory Committee and Board of Education met on many separate occasions to discuss each individual Master Plan Element and enriched the planning process with their input. The professionals retained to prepare the Master Plan utilized this input to guide and develop the Plan.

REASON FOR PROGRAM In some of the affected vehicles, the multifunction switch may develop corrosion on the front windshield wiper switch terminals affecting its signal output. The change in the signal output interferes with normal operation of the front windshield wipers. The most common condition involves the front wipers briefly turning on with the wiper switch in the "off" position. In extreme cases when this condition is ignored for some time, wiper high-speed operation may be affected.
