The School year begins on the 18th of Maskarem (September 28th) following Maskal, the day of the finding of the Holy Cross- and ends on the 15"^ of Hamle (July 25T4), His Imperial Ma¬ jesty's Birthday. The data refer to the beginning of the school year and supply informa¬ tion on the number of schools, grades, students enrolment and teachers. Data on students studying abroad are supplied separately. Source of Data Data exposed in this publication have been taken mainly out of three pu¬ blications of the Ministry of Education and Pine Arts, Government School Cen¬ sus for year 1955 (issued October 1956),for years 1956 - 1957 (issued June 1957) for years 1956 - 1958 (issued June 1958), for Enrolment, Teacher Supply and School Facilities with special Related Studies".
