To accept and to follow the Decree of Heaven appears to be the core of the I Ching. The diversity of nature is represented in the I Ching by means of the hexagrams that provide clues to the reader of the appropriate action to be taken under various circumstances of this changing physical world. Constant change in nature seems evitable and serves as an inspiration to the authors of the I Ching. Confucius (1993:33) recognizes the terrible quality of change in all existence and is inspired by running water. Standing by a stream, the Master muses: ‘Things that go past are like this, aren’t they? For they do not set aside day or night.’ Chuang Tzu (1968:240) is also aware of the fragility and transience of human life, stating that ‘man’s life between heaven and earth is like the passing of a white colt glimpsed through a crack in the wall whoosh! and that’s the end.’ In Chapter 13 of the Tao Te Ching, Lao Tzu (1963:69), too, realizes the inevitable horror of bodily existence: ‘The reason I have great trouble is that I have a body. -

Through a close textual analysis of three separate passages, one from each of the Pippi books, the thesis writer considers the phenomenological experience of childhood as portrayed through the character of Pippi Longstocking and her friends Tommy and Annika. By considering the ways in which specific words, phrases and descriptions render the author's expression of childhood, the thesis writer proposes a more accurate appreciation for the broad and enduring appeal of the book than has been made to this point. -

Mead’s Quests Old and New, where he Found a section devoted to Hans Vaihinger’s main ideas, Fernando Pessoa reFlects on the consequences oF the Fictionalist approach to both our perception oF the I and the value oF consciousness. These questions correspond to some statements that we Find in Nietzsche’s writings, which in particular Vaihinger reFers to in his Die Philosophie des Als-ob. Our aim is thus to compare Nietzsche’s and Pessoa’s view oF the I and consciousness, and to deal with their psychology by making reFerence to Vaihinger’s Fictionalism. Nietzsche's Theory of the Will
Philosophers’ , . that Nietzsche has provocative views about the I mprint nature of the will and free will. It is less often appreciated that I his views on these topics have considerable merit. Nietzsche not only anticipates and lends argumentative support to the new wave of non-libertarian incompatibilism defended by philosophers like Derk Pereboom () and Galen Strawson () — the view that free will is incompatible with “determinism” and that there is no credible ac- count of free will as outside the causal order in the ong — but his Nietzsche’s Theory theory of the will also wins some support from recent work on the will in empirical psychology (see Wegner ). As a philosophical naturalist, Nietzsche thought of his theoretical endeavors as proceed- ing in tandem with empirical inquiry (Leiter : –). As befits his of the Will self-designation as “the first psychologist”, it turns out that Nietzsche anticipated results that psychologists only arrived at a century later. In section of Daybreak, Nietzsche sets out the primary issues that shall occupy us here in trying to understand his theory of the will. Nietzsche writes: We laugh at him who steps out of his room at the mo- ment when the sun steps out of its room, and then says: “I will that the sun shall rise”; and at him who cannot stop a . There are a lot of reasons in choosing “project work”. As mentioned in “Project with young learners” (Philips Diana, Burwood Sarah, Dunford Helen, 1999), a project is organized in a way that children can have an active role and be aware of what they are doing. In it every activity is linked one to the other and none of the children have a passive part. It will educate the whole child: using a wide range of skills such as intellectual skills, physical/motor skills, social skills and learner independence skills. Everybody feels involved and at the same time has the opportunity to challenge him/herself overcoming his/her own limits. “This approach encourages emotional and personal development. Wherever possible, children are given an opportunity to produce work which is personal and individual, which reflects their ideas, tastes, and interests; they are encouraged to express their feelings, and their opinions are sought and valued” (Philips, Burwood, Dunford, 1999:6). Children have a natural curiosity for language and fascination with projects that challenge them to use a range of talents, skills and material in a creative way. It will inspire pupils to make a variety of “products” and encourage them to work collaboratively in order to reach the same aims. Children at this age, see parents as their first and almost unique reference point. In nursery school, the teachers also have a significant role from them. It‟s very important then, to have a dialogue between teachers and children‟s parents in order to have a common line in “educating” the children, that‟s why this project will be presented to the parents first and then it can start during the lessons.
