NATIONAL ANTI- BULLYING DAY At Tamworth South we do focus on teaching anti-bullying strategies but that doesn’t mean this will never occur. Not only does it happen in schools it can happen in any environment where people gather such as in the work place, at sport or even in the home. It is our job as parents and teachers to teach our children not to be a bully, what to do if you are being bullied and your responsibility as a bystander if you can see someone being bullied.

Discussing bullying in theclassroom requires teaching What Bullying is Not thinking strategies and scaffolding discussions. Remember, someone who is nasty once would not be considered a bully but if the behaviour is repeated and There are opportunities within the curriculum and ongoing, well then that is bullying. As parents, it can be throughout the school day for learning concepts related very tempting to jump in to protect your child because it to bullying, and to foster positive, inclusive and proactive is so upsetting to have an unhappy child but remember, attitudes and practices. These conversations re-assure students that they will be supported if they are bullied.

Year 7 in 2022 Do you have a child moving into Year 7 in 2022? If so, your child has brought home an ‘Expression of Interest’ form for you to complete. Most NSW Government schools have local intake areas and it is your child’s permanent address which determines which High School they will attend. You may have reasons why you would like your child to attend a school that is not your local school. If this is the case you will need to request placement in an out-of-area school. All the information you need to do so is contained in the ‘Expression of Interest’ form your child has brought home from school. It is very important that your child’s permanent address is correct on our system. If you have changed address but not notified the school please do so by contacting the front office, proof of address is required.

If you have any question around this ‘Expression of Interest’ form please don’t hesitate to contact.
