Administrative History The Autograph Collection is a compilation of items from several different collections and gifts including the Edward Carrigan, S.J., and Martin Carrigan, S.J., collection, the Mandel gift, the Berelman gift, the Halstead collection, the Wayne gift, and Loyola University Chicago records. Scope and Content The Autograph Collection contains approximately 15.5 linear feet (1,280 files) of materials spanning the years 1400 to 1975 (bulk 1772-1955) and includes autographed photographs, correspondence, clipped signatures, magazine articles and photos, an illuminated page from a 15th century German Breviary, and land deeds and ship passports. Materials were collected around the subject areas of theatre, authors, politicians, and religious figures. Languages in the collection include English, Latin, French, and German.
