AprilApril 110,0 , 11912912 Turners Falls'Falls’ new moving picture theatre, the Lyric, on Third Street, presents a very attractive appearance and under the able and expert management of Lawler Bros. already gives promise of being successful as well as well conducted enterprises of the sort generally are. JuneJune 1212 The big Selig feature picture "The Coming of Columbus," will be shown at the Lyric theatre this afternoon at 3.30, evening at 7.15 and at 8.45. The Selig Company has assuredly created a notable production and one which will long be of use as an educational factor. JulyJuly 31 Special Pictures at the Lyric Theater "A Nation's Peril," a big two reel Pathe (Pathé)(Pathé) moving picture, will be shown at the Lyric theater, Third Street, next Saturday afternoon and evening. This is one of the most sensational films ever shown in moving pictures, and shows the explosion of a submarine minemune throwing tons of water into the air, carrying with it shattered fragments of a battleship. "The Lady of the Lake," a three reel Vitagraph special feature picture will be shown Saturday afternoon and evening, August 10th.10th. This picture is taken from the poem of Sir Walter Scott and shows many Scottish scenes. August 28 "The Siege of Petersburg," a spectacular Civil War production based on historical incidents in connection with one of the most sensational campaigns of the rebellion, will be shown at the Lyric theatre, Third Street, for one day only, next Saturday afternoon at 2.25 and 3.45 and in the evening at 7.15 and 8.45. September 4 ““TheThe French Spy," a three-reel Vitagraph special feature will be shown at the Lyric theatre, next Saturday afternoon, Sept. 7, at 2.15 and 3.30 and in the evening at 7.15 and 8.45. September 1818 The feature picture at the Lyric theatre next Saturday afternoon and evening will be a gorgeous special two-reel masterpiece, "Ramses, King of Egypt." Page 2 of 28 Ed Gregory August, 2017 September 25 Miss Blanche Williams has taken as position as pianist at the Lyric theatre. Charles F. Shulda takes her place as pianist for the Colonial Orchestra. October 9 The special feature picture at the lyric theatre next Saturday afternoon and evening is "The Tragedy of the Desert." Every scene was taken in Luxor, Egypt, and on the great Sahara Desert. November 1313 The vaudeville act at the Lyric theatre for the last three days of this week is "Bessie Fox," a dainty singing, talking and dancing artist. November 20 "Martin Chuzzlewit" is a three reel feature at the Lyric, FridayFnday and Saturday afternoon and evening. To the lovers of Dickens this wonderful film isis—Dickens.―Dickens. November 27 A special feature picture, "The Orleans Coach," will be shown at the Lyric next Friday and Saturday. It is a true story of the greatest judicialjudicial error ever committed. December 4 "The Adopted Child" is the special feature at the Lyric Theatre next Friday and Saturday. December 1111 -The special feature of the Lyric theatre next Friday will be "The Blighted Son," in four parts. A different program will be shown Saturday. December 1818 -The two reel special feature picture, "The Man Hunt," will be shown at the Lyric next Friday afternoon and evening for one day only. -Marion & Finlay, clever singing and talking artists, at the Lyric the first half of this week are winning a volume of welcome applause. -The vaudeville act at the Lyric, Thursday, Friday and Saturday is by "The Sharps" who are comedy musical artists of note. Their act promises to be up to the usual high standard of vaudeville seen at the Lyric. December 25 -Moran & Moran, the classy singing and dancing team, at the Lyric, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week have taken the audience by storm at every performance. The Kiplings, in a singing and dancing act, are booked for the last half of the week. The picture was taken at the Stockholm meet and shows the greatest athletes in action. JanuaryJanuary 1515 The greatest moving picture up-up-to-date,to-date, "Monte Cristo," will be presented at the Lyric theatre this week. Its first showingshowimg will be on Friday and Saturday, JanuaryJanuary 17th17th and 18th.18th. JanuaryJanuary 22 The Duttons in a musical specialty at the Lyric the last half of this week. February 5 The special three reel feature picture, "The Mills of the Gods," will be shown at the Lyric, Thursday and Friday afternoon and evening. This is a modern drama that palpitates with fire and power with the most vigorous acting by the greatest artists. March 26 To celebrate the first anniversary of the LyricLync Theatre on Third Street, the management announce[sic]announce|sic] two big headline vaudeville acts for next Friday afternoon and evening, Faust and Faust, pantomimic and musical comedians, and Skinner and Wood, singing and dancing artists. They also offer on that day the special two-reel Vitagraph comedy drama, "Billy Burger." April 2 -Kennard and Hart, two clowns in a comedy acrobatic act, come to-morrow to finisfinishh the week at the Lyric. Their act is1s full of fun and is sure to "get" the crowd. JuneJune 4 Two excellent vaudeville acts at the Lyric theatre, Third Street this week. For the first half, Nash and Evans, a comedy singing, talking and roller skating and tamborine manipulating act, for the last half of the week, Visochi Bros., who do an accordian playing and whistling act. In addition to the vaudeville will be shown the usaual, excellent programme of moving pictures. JuneJune 1111 "Pickwick Papers," in two parts from Dickens' story of Mr. Pickwick's adventures will be shown at the Lyric, Thursday and Friday, afternoon and evening. JulyJuly 9 "Mary McDonald" at the Lyric the first half of this week is a very good singer, pleasing the audience with her sweet voice at every performance. JulyJuly 30 Bruno Leucht, who has run the picture machine at the Lyric theatre since September, has gone to Rochester, N.Y. with a position at the Plymouth Theatre. August 6 Will Dockery, singing and talking comedian, opens a three days engagement at the Lyric theatre, Third Street to-morrow afternoon. Friday and Saturday's picture programme follows; "Fortune's Pet," two reel feature, "American Eclair," "A Double Sacrifice,: "Nestor the Boob," Rex, "Animated Weekly No. 67" Universal. August 27 To-night'sTo-night's picture program at the Lyric is1s as follows: "The Secret of Padre Antonio," Frontier; "An Expensive Drink," Crystal. Animated Weekly Number 70, Universal, and the two-reel special feature, "For the Man She Loved," Eclair Vaudeville. "Jack Aitkin," in a comedy act entitles "The Census Taker." Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening, "The Angel of Death," Imp. "Aladdin's Awakening," Nestor. "A Story of the Mexican Border," Frontier, and the two-reel special feature, "When the Light Came Back," Eclair Vaudeville. "C.W. Littlefield," Littlefield," Mimic. September 24 The program at the Lyric to-night includes "Chester Kingston," a clever novelty contortionist, with the regular five reels of moving pictures. "Carl Wallner," in a singing, talking and whistling act is billed for the last half of the week. As a special feature Saturday afternoon and evening two vaudeville acts have been engaged, "Conaris & Cleo," comedy magicians being added to the regular programme. Their act is a sure hit. October 11 "Gladys Vance," the character singing comedienne now playing at the Lyric Theatre, is making quite a hit. "Katherine Klare," billed as the "Irish"Ivish Thrush," is booked for the last half of the week. Her act is exceptionally good and sure to please. October 8 "Frederick Elmore," magical monologist, now playing at the Lyric Theatre, Third Street, closes his engagement to-night. "Billie Cobire," singing comedienne, is1s booked for Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons and evenings. The usual program of five reels of moving pictures will complete the bill. Page 5 of 28 Ed Gregory August, 2017 October 1515 "Jack Connolly," comedian finished his engagement at the Lyric last night. Baker and Herbert, and the comedy trick dog are booked for the last three days of the week. They do a comedy musical act and are sure to please the Lyric patrons. October 29 Dike Thomas, colored comedian, now playing at the Lyric, closes his engagement toto-night.-night. Thursday brings the usual change of vaudeville and two extra acts in addition, making three vaudeville acts for Thursday afternoon and evening with the usual five reels of interesting moving pictures. November 26 Eddie Paul, musical comedian, now paying at the Lyric, has more than made good with the Lyric patrons the past two days. He ends his engagement to-night.
