Sponsored by: Welcome to ConQuest SAC! Thanks for coming together to celebrate a weekend of gaming with old and new friends alike! This program book is full of nearly two hundred different events including role playing, board games, miniature games, card games, as well as vendors, flea markets, a great seminar, yummy food, and so much more! The community has worked hard with the staff to bring to you some fun and exciting things to do this weekend. Chances are you won’t get to do it all, but you can sure have a great time trying! Have fun! What’s New This Year! SPONSOR! We want to welcome this year’s show sponsor….Please make sure you stop by and tell them thanks for helping by sponsoring the show! THE LAUNCHPAD COMICS AND GAMES! 9 S. Sacramento St., Lodi CA 95240, (209) 365-1981 VENDORS! This year we have six wonderful vendors with some really neat things for you to take a look at and maybe take home with you! 4 of our vendors are independent game designers who will be demoing their games and selling copies at the show as well. PIRATES!! The gang down at MWS, led by the hard working hobbyist, Greg Marker, are bringing you a phenomenal event this year...Pirates of the Carob Bean Sea. They have room for up to 32 players, and boast five GMs! Even if you decide not to play, you’ve got to take some time to walk over and take a look at what they have done. GAME WHISPERER! Richard Bliss, the noted game whisperer, also writes a blog that covers all things regarding Kickstarter, that amazing fund raising tool that many cottage industry creators are using to bring their games to market! Very informative! SAC WAR GAME BASIC TRAINING! John Wootress, creator of the incredibly popular Pacificon War Game Basic Training program, will be on hand to ‘plant the seed’ at ConQuest SAC for a future full-blown program. This year, he’ll be on hand to teach some wargames to anyone who might like to learn over the weekend. We’ll even raffle off a few free badges to Pacificon as well! WARHAMMER! Mark Ruggiero will be presenting an introduction to Warhammer 40K on Sunday for anyone who has looked at learning this very popular game system! WAR AND PIZZA! We are proud to announce that fresh, made-to-order, pizza has arrived at the ConQuest Canteen this year for your eating pleasure! We also are excited about the return of a pasta station on Fri and Sat nights! Make mine pepperoni! MORE PIRATICAL FUN! This year marks our very first ‘Dress Like a Pirate Day’ on Saturday, March 17 of ConQuest SAC. It also happens to be St. Patrick’s Day, so if you are an Irish pirate...B’gorrrragh!! Lots of fun! Ok! So how do I get started! Well, if you have this book, you probably already have your badge. You gotta have your badge if you want to participate in the convention. Even if you are just enjoying the sights, a badge is required. The registration/convention HQ is easy to find, as it is smack dab in the middle of the hotel lobby. Almost all game signup sheets are located at the convention HQ in the lobby. You just put your name on the list for the game/event in which you wish to participate. The exception is for Living Forgotten Realm (LFR) and Pathfinder Society (PFS) games...their signups are located in the Carmel room. (See map on the front cover of this guide!) For the most part, the events mainly occur in the California Ballroom (CA BR). LFR & PFS games are located in Carmel. Board & Card games (all sorts) gravitate towards the Los Angeles portion of the CA BR, Miniature games (all sorts) tend to be towards the center of the room in the San Francisco portion of the CA BR, and role playing and vendors and flea markets are generally in the Sacramento portion of the CA BR. On Saturday, we add an additional room, the Folsom room, which will house additional PFS, LFR, role playing, and board games. The BIG PIRATE game will take place in the San Francisco room of the CA BR. If you are looking for guidance or assistance, just flag down any of the Blue Vested ConQuest SAC staffers, and they will be more than happy to help you with any question you may have. We don’t have many rules, but here are the ones we do have…. Please have lots of fun. Keep an eye on your personal belongings as we can’t be responsible for them at the show. Get rest, lots of water, eat plenty of pizza, and practice good hygiene. Wear your name badge at all times, with your real, legal name on it. No masks. No real weapons. Even if it’s part of your costume. Follow all instructions of the staff. Be nice to everyone. Please. Players take on the role of Caesar and compete for the most prestige points. This happens by clever placement of his/her eight dice, which are placed on five different buildings. AE-324 Kingsburg by ConQuest Staff, 2 hrs, 5 players, Game, Kids OK The game takes place over five years, a total of 20 turns. In every year, there are 3 production seasons for collecting resources, building structures, and training troops. Every fourth turn is the winter, in which all the players must fight an invading army. Each player must face the invaders, so this is not a cooperative game. The resources to build structures and train troops are collected by influencing the advisers in the King's Council. Players place their influence dice on members of the Council. The player with the lowest influence dice sum will be the first one to choose where to spend his/her influence; this acts as a way of balancing poor dice rolling.
