We hope you have been busy making all those wonderful gifts for friends and family. We are here to help you. Our staff are professionals in the needlework world. Everyone of them have been to Pam’s classes. As we say “they can run a needle” and enjoy helping you so much. Coconut Cream Pie Bars For the crust 1 cup (2 sticks) butter 2 cups all-purpose flour ½ cup powdered sugar Instructions Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9 x 13” baking dish with a foil sling by tearing one sheet and placing it the width of the pan, another one the length of the pan. This way you will be able to pull the bars out of the pan with the foil. Cut the butter into the flour and sugar using a food processor or a pastry cutter. Press the dough into the foil lined pan. Bake 15- 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool. Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm Late Night Tuesday ‘til 7:00 pm “We Keep You In Stitches” Page 1 of 15 Inside Stitches 281-320-0133 7822 Louetta Road Volume16 – Number 4 www.3stitches.com Spring, Texas 77379 October, November, December For the bars 3 cups half-and-half 3 cups coconut milk 4 eggs 1 ½ cups granulated sugar 2/3 cup cornstarch ½ teaspoons salt 1 ½ cups flaked coconut ½ teaspoon coconut extract ½ teaspoon vanilla extract Instructions Combine the half-and-half, coconut milk, eggs, sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a large saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-low heat, whisking constantly, until it is thick and bubbling. This can take 10-20 minutes. Add coconut, the extracts and stir. Pour this into cooled crust. Let it cool for 10 minutes or so before putting in the refrigerator. Refrigerate overnight. Whipped Topping 1 tub whipped cream 1 cup coconut, for toasting Instructions In a heavy skillet over low heat, toast the coconut until golden brown; set aside to cool. Top the chilled bars with whipped cream and sprinkle the toasted coconut on top. Return to the refrigerator until ready to serve. Thank you so very much Connie. This is the best food ever. But when you put them together, something miraculous happen – a flavored cider for bringing people together. Kreinik 032 Opal can be mixed with any color to make something shinny. Knowledge means ease of stitching. There is always something to learn in the needlework world. It is a joy to stitch with people who share your interest. They have something in common with YOU. You stitch – they stitch. You can learn – they can learn making it fun for both. In class, students ask questions and get answers. All of us learn together. Classes must be paid at the time of reservation. If you need to cancel a class, we must be notified 48 hours prior to the date to receive store credit. Tuesday, October 11, November 15, and December 13 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM OR Thursday, October 13, November 17, and December 15 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (purchase kit) This year we have a day class and an evening Fiber Club class. We are working on a fun Christmas piece with skates, the mayor, and this wife.The piece is stitched on 20 Ct. Blue Jean fabric from Weeks dye Works using as many different fibers as possible. The more threads used the more interesting the project. The piece can be finished in different ways – such as a wall hanging, framed piece, pillow, or table cover. When finished it will be a piece that you will be happy to display during the holidays. Sampler Club! Thursday, October 13, November 10, and December 8, 2016 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM ($185) In this class we are learning how to make different stitches such as a border flying geese, Milanese and Scotch stitch star, Parisian stitch and much much more. We are stitching on 30 Ct. Straw fabric from Weeks Dye Works using various silk threads along with Accentuate thread which is a strong metallic thread. This class started in January; however we still have over half a year to go. It is never too late to catch up. You will have a piece to be proud of and lots of ideas running through your head. Finishing Class! Bring in your finished stitched piece and we will show you. You will need to bring backing fabric as well as any trim you may wish. This will all be done by hand rather than machine. If you don’t have a stitched piece, perhaps you would prefer to just watch. That can be done also. Bird Pincushion! Natural/Raw Belfast with DMC floss and embellished with buttons from Button Etc. and Dames of the Needle grunge Pom Pom Trim. The chart is from the Italian designer Nicoletta who taught this class at market. Basic Cross Stitch! Saturday, November 19 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM ($20) Whether you want to learn how to cross stitch from the first stitch or learn some easier ways to stitch, this class is for you. Meet people who enjoy your same interest and have a Saturday morning full of fun. You learn how to tell the difference between the publisher and designer of a chart. Information that is needed when you ask us to order a chart just for you. If it is in print, we can order the book. Learn techniques of stitching. Not only will we be covering the how to start and stop techniques, we will be showing you different ways to end your thread securely. How to read the charts and answer any questions you might have.
