8th Grade Integrated Science MRS. KALSCHEUR’S CLASS

All students will be required to complete a “Famous Scienst Most Wanted Poster” that will be due on Monday, August 21, 2017 with presentaons the week of August 21, 2017 - August 25, 2017. Sciensts will be assigned on a first come basis with only one scienst per class. Students will be given computer me in class to research their scienst and they should use this me efficiently. Projects will be graded based on the following criteria: “Famous Scienst Most Wanted” POSTER

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS:

_____ 5 points Poster MUST be on an 8 1/2 inches x 11 inches poster board or construcon paper. _____ 5 points Poster MUST be neat and easy to understand. _____ 5 points Your name on the boom right corner of poster. _____ 5 points Scienst Mug Shot - can be printed or neatly drawn (no pencil) on poster _____ 5 points First, Middle and Last name of your scienst on poster. _____ 5 points Birth Date and Year of Death or if sll alive on poster. _____ 5 points What country were they born in and where did they do their work? _____ 5 points A fact that you found interesng OR a quote by that person. _____ 5 points Picture of what they invented or worked on - can be printed or neatly drawn (no pencil) on poster. _____ 10 points State source of where photographs were obtained/replicated from on back of poster. _____ 20 points Make a photocopy of your sources with informaon highlighted and aached behind poster. _____ 25 points What is the scienst famous (wanted) for? What did they discover, invent or contribute to society. This is the most important part of the poster. Write 5-8 complete sentences, IN YOUR OWN WORDS on poster. _____ 25 points Student presentaon should be between 1-2 minutes in length with an introducon, research and conclusion. Students should be well prepared using appropriate gestures, eye contact and voice projecon.
