Eligibility Before completing the application candidates are advised to consider the objectives of the Marshall Scholarship Programme (see opening paragraph of the Rules for Candidates) and the evaluation Criteria. Recommendations Applicants should be aware that the Selection Committees are seeking candidates who have the potential to excel as scholars, leaders and as contributors to improved UKUS understanding. Review Application Candidates must fill out the form and submit it through the system to their institution, the institution ensures that the application is complete and decides whether or not to endorse it. If the Institution decides to endorse the application they will Application Summary add the letter of endorsement and will then submit it through the system to the appropriate Regional Selection Committee.
Candidates should contact the appropriate person, usually the Fellowship Advisor, at their institution if they are considering Submit Application applying for a Marshall Scholarship. Applications must be endorsed by the President, Provost, or Academic Dean of the applicant's US educational institution.
All items including the four letters of recommendation must be submitted online by the authorised contact no later than 3 October 2016.
In addition to a pdf being uploaded online, one hard copy of the Academic transcripts must also be sent by mail to the regional centre. This should be marked for the attention of Marshall Scholarships and be received no later than 3 October 2016.
Your institution may have earlier deadlines for submission of your application. Whether this is the case or not you must submit your application in a timely manner in order for your institution to be able to authorise it for submission by 3 October 2016.
Candidates may apply in one region only either that in which they have their permanent home address or ordinary place of residence/employment, or that in which they are studying. Any candidate applying in more than one region will automatically be disqualified. Candidates may apply for either the one year or two year Scholarship not both. Any candidate found applying for both will automatically be disqualified.

You should enter the names and details of your recommenders in the section below. Instructions
Who should my recommenders be? Application Pages Your recommenders should be able to supplement the required Letter of Endorsement by providing further details as to your qualifications. Eligibility
The first of these should be designated the Preferred Recommender and this recommender should have supervised your Personal Details college or university training. At least two recommendations must be provided by academics. Education One of the recommendations may primarily address your leadership and ambassadorial potential, and this need not be provided by an academic. Proposed Programme of Study At least three of these recommenders should be in the United States. Employment How do my recommenders submit their letters? Personal Information Enter your recommender’s details below. When registering recommenders, please make sure that you register your preferred recommender first, and the Other Awards recommendation about leadership as your fourth recommendation. Post Scholarship Once you have entered the names and details of each recommender, including a valid email address, please click save. This will send an automated email to the recommender with instructions on how to fill out the recommendation form. Statements Your recommenders must submit their letters of recommendation online no later than 3 October 2016. You will be able to see when your letters have been started and when they have been submitted, but the contents of these Administration will not be made available to you online.
