Of all governorates, Taiz hosts the highest number of IDPs, with 16% of Yemen’s IDPs2. The ongoing conflict in Taiz is not only presenting challenges to delivering assistance to IDPs—but the situation continues to deteriorate. Ibb’s proximity to Taiz and its relative security have resulted in movements of IDPs to the area, and as a result, Ibb governorate is currently hosting 5% of the nations’ IDPs3. In December 2015, International Medical Corps (IMC) conducted a Multi-Sector Initial Rapid Assessment (MIRA) in the aforementioned governorates, Ibb and Taiz. In Ibb, the assessment targeted Thi-Alsofal, Al Mashannah, and Al Dhihar districts. These districts were selected upon recommendation of the governorate Health Office and the high concentration of IDPs present. In Taiz, the teams went to Dimnat Khadir, Salh, Mawyah, and At Taiziyah, selected based on their accessibility for IMC’s mobile teams and/or vicinity to Taiz City. The objective of the assessment was to further understand IDP situation and assess the availability of services to IDP and conflict-affected populations. A mixed methodology approach was used for the assessment. Quantitative and qualitative data was collected in the form of desk reviews, key informant interviews (KIIs), surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), Mid Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) screening and health facility assessments. In Taiz, due to accessibility constraints in Taiz, not all the above- mentioned methods were able to be
