OTTAWA RETAIL REPORT 4Q08 ECONOMIC OVERVIEW ECONOMIC INDICATORS Defying what is occurring on a national level, Ottawa-Gatineau’s 2008 2007 2006 unemployment rate dropped by 0.2 percentage points in December to Real GDP Growth 1.2% 2.4% 3.3% 4.5%. A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT With the 2017 celebrations and Winterlude and all the regular ONC activities we have lots to do and lots to celebrate this year! If you haven't been down to Winterlude you must go! One year there was a massive ice castle display from Harbin, China in front of city hall. If nothing else - go for the Beaver Tails, you won't be disappointed! It is now the time of year that we start to look for replacements for the Board. This means that our Nominating Committee will be in full swing soon. !Our club operates on volunteer labour so please say “yes” if asked. !It's a great way to make new friends and to help keep the club operating at the same time!! A MESSAGE FROM THE VICE-PRESIDENT Although many of our members become “snowbirds” at this time of year all activities in ONC continue on schedule & provide us with great opportunities to connect with one another. Nothing is better to take away the wintery chill than a fun time with friends, so continue to enjoy all the activities that suit you.
