FLY&DRIVE “FROM DOURO TO TAGUS” – 7N/8D

Day 1 | ORIGIN – MADRID – RIBERA DE DUERO REGION Upon arrival to Madrid International Airport, you will pick up the rented car and start your experience. Drive (175 km, 1h50 min) to the North reaching world famous Ribera del Duero region. Your first stop is at Portia Winery. Discover this spectacular winery, masterpiece of Norman Foster, during your guided tour and taste their wines (entrance fee and tasting of two wines included). Proceed to Curiel (54 km, 45 min) driving through miles and miles of vineyards and check in at your castle hotel Castillo de Curiel 4* or similar. Overnight in Ribera del Duero region.

Day 2 | RIBERA DEL DUERO REGION After breakfast take a short walk to Bodegas Comenge. Discover this ECOlogical winery and taste their three wines (entrance fee included). Also get an unforgettable experience to take a pleasant horse ride through the vineyard’s valley. In the evening visit Peñafiel Castle (7km, 8 min). This symbol of Ribera del Duero, founded in the IX century, offers unforgettable views of all the region and the possibility to visit it´s Wine Museum (entrance fee to the Castle and Wine Museum with audio-guide included). Overnight in Ribera del Duero region.

Day 3 | RIBERA DEL DUERO REGION – SALAMANCA – FUERTE DE LA CONCEPCIÓN After breakfast and check out take a drive to Salamanca (180 km, 2 h). Meet your private local guide to discover this UNESCO World Heritage City visiting the University and the Cathedral (entrance fees included). Take some free time to discover it´s historical streets on your own and in the evening continue your journey right to the border of Portugal (130 km, 1h25 min). Check in at one of the most original hotels of Spain Hotel Eurostars Fuerte de la Concepción 4*, just in 600 meters from the border, original military fortress of the XVII century. Overnight in Fuerte de la Concepción. Day 4 | FUERTE – SIEGA VERDE – CIUDAD RODRIGO – FUERTE DE LA CONCEPCIÓN After breakfast drive (16 km, 20 min) to Siega Verde archeological area. Discover during your guided tour the mystery of its Paleolithic paintings declared World Heritage in 2010. Proceed to Ciudad Rodrigo (16 km, 20 min). Explore on your own this antient historical town, surrounding by its Medieval wall fabulous Cathedral and Castle. Overnight in Fuerte de la Concepción.

Day 5 | FUERTE DE LA CONCEPCIÓN – PEÑA DE FRNCIA – ALBERCA – MALPARTIDA DE PLASENCIA – MONFRAGÜE After breakfast and check out proceed (85 km, 1h10 min) to Peña de Francia mountain rock of 1723 meters with a Monastery. Enjoy that breathtaking panoramic views of the region. Continue to Alberca (15 km, 20 min) considered one of the most beautiful villages of Spain. Take a one hour walk through its streets full of cozy houses and enjoy the view of its Plaza Mayor square (we suggest picking up a map with the recommended itinerary at the tourist office locate at this square). Proceed (90 km, 1h30min) to Malpartida de Plasencia village to enjoy the Iberian Ham route experience. Guided tour will let you to discover the process of its elaboration from all the beginning admiring the animals at Spanish dehesa till the end: tasting this delicious product. In the late evening proceed (36 km, 40 min) for check in at Hospederia de Monfragüe 4* hotel or similar, located in Monfragüe National Park. Overnight in Monfragüe.

Day 6 | MONFRAGÜE – TRUJILLO After breakfast and check out take one of the trekking itineraries through Monfragüe National Park (we suggest the 8km one – aprox 2h duration and low difficulty). In the afternoon continue (60 km, 45 min) to Trujillo area and delight yourself with a tour and wine tasting at Habla Winery. New style winery not, new style wines with extreme respect to the tradition and ecosystem of Extremadura. Arrive to Trujillo and after check at palace Hotel Palacio Santa Marta 4* or similar, take a long walk-through Trujillo historical street. Overnight in Trujillo.

Day 7 | TRUJILLO – GUADALUPE – FINCA EL CASTAÑAR – TOLEDO After breakfast and check out drive (80km, 1h10 min) to Guadalupe. Take an aprox. one hour walk visiting by your own its Monastery and Medieval streets. Later proceed (165 km, 2h30 min) directly to Finca el Castañar located in Toledo area. Enjoy your rustic lunch (included) in hunting house at this luxury private farmhouse of Spanish aristocracy. Later take a tour to see the bullfighting bulls farm of their property. Admire these animals and discover this part of Spanish culture. Proceed (25 km, 30 min) to Toledo and check in at your palace Hotel Eugenia de Montijo 5* or similar. Take a walk-through Toledo Street under night illumination. Overnight in Toledo.

Day 8 | TOLEDO – ORIGIN After breakfast and check out meet your private local guide for Toledo Walking tour. Discover this multicultural city located on the magnificent Tagus river side that was a capital of Spain, admire the Cathedral (entrance fee included). After the tour proceed to the Madrid Airport for check in for your flight. Drop off your rented car at the airport and enjoy your flight back home.
