Dept. of History & Research Centre, N.S.S.College Manjeri, Malappuram, Kerala Abstract This paper focuses the role of Munsiffs and other related functionaries in the early administration of justice in the colonial Malabar. Village Munsiff, a class of Indian judicial servants played a remarkable role in the administration of justice. Courts of Adalath’s were established for better and proper justice. Muhammadan law officers propounded the Muslim
