  • Dear Delegates, My Name Is Mashal Shah, and As Head Chair, I Would
Dear Delegates, My name is Mashal Shah, and as head chair, I would like to welcome you to Peshwa Bajirao I’s Pradhan (Council)! I am third year at the University of California, Davis majoring in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior. I have been a member of the Model United Nations Club at UC Davis since my freshman year, and participated in MUN and Parliamentary Debate in high school as well, and my favorite committees are usually historical ones. A fun fact about me: I lived in five different countries by the time I was eight years old, and this has inspired me to explore the world even more. I look forward to chairing another conference on the collegiate circuit, and am even more excited about chairing a committee on the Maratha Empire and the Indian Subcontinent. Originally from Karachi, Pakistan, South Asian history and politics have always interested me. I hope you enjoy your time at AggieMUN 2017 as you engage with the Marathas, the Mughals, the Europeans, and many, many more. Regards, Mashal Shah [email protected] Dear Delegates, My name is Stephen Zehnder, and I will be the Crisis Director for Peshwa Bajirao’s I’s Council. I am a senior at the University of California, Davis studying History and Economics. Model United Nations has been a part of my life since high school, helping mold my areas of interest. This will be my third time staffing a crisis committee, and my first in the arena of South Asia. This particular committee is exciting for me because of the inherent potential for power politics from within the Council as well as without.

Since its inception on 17th March 1970, the crucial mission of making sustainable cities with futuristic infrastructure and creating a legacy for generations to come has been the hallmark of India's largest urban town planning agency. The infrastructure mission undertaken 50 years ago is being fulfilled with major landmarks like the upcoming Navi Mumbai Metro and the world's largest Greenfield Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA). CIDCO is marching ahead at breakneck speed taking important progressive steps to achieve the mission of creating and developing a planned and sustainable urban habitat within the periphery of 344 sq. km land that was handed over to CIDCO. As per the Development Plan, CIDCO carved out 14 nodes i.e. townships, each capable of accommodating at least 1 million population with the requisite physical and social infrastructure making every node self-sufficient. Before CIDCO could reach its Silver Jubilee year on 1st January 1992, a new local self-government body named Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation was formed in the 7 developed nodes on the north side.

  • Hospitality Industry
Tourism the Growth factor in Hospitality Industry OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF HOTEL & RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION (WESTERN INDIA) FOR PRIVATE CIRCULATION ONLY DECEMBER 2015 2 | HRA | DECEMBER, 2015 December 2015 PRESIDENT'S NOTE 3 President's Note Dear Members of the HRA (WI): Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, hope all of us enjoy the festive season with family & friends. RAWI has once again appealed to the Government to scrap all irrelevant laws and Hconcentrate on compliance on all relevant laws and procedures. The Government of Maharashtra has shown a strong commitment towards such change and we are hoping that the same will translate into early action. Maharashtra has been rated on top in terms of tourism potential by a recent survey compiled by HVS in association with the World Travel & Tourism Council. We look forward to the states of Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh also moving up the rankings. December has seen a reduced inlow of foreign tourists into India and it's time that we as citizens of this country take an active role in understanding that our global image as a country plagued with law and order issues, diseases and adverse media reports must not overshadow the beauty that is our country and its culture. As long as we are not able to focus our energies towards positives we shall continue to get barely 0.5% of the global travelers to our country. The HRA and the FHRAI has appealed to the Indian Government to bring a slew of changes including GST of not greater than 8% for the hospitality industry to harmonize us globally.
