General Assembly Distr.: General 5 August 2013 Original: English Word count (including footnotes/endnotes): 8419 Sixty-eighth session Item 19 of the provisional agenda Sustainable Development: Intergenerational solidarity and the needs of future generations Report of the Secretary-General Summary The present report is prepared pursuant to paragraph 86 of the Rio+20 outcome document, which requests the Secretary-General to provide a report on the need for promoting intergenerational solidarity for the achievement of sustainable development, taking into account the needs of future generations. The report evaluates how the need for intergenerational solidarity could be addressed by the United Nations system and analyses how the issue of intergenerational solidarity is embedded in the concept of sustainable development and existing treaties, and declarations, resolutions, and intergovernmental decisions. It also reviews the conceptual A/68/100 A/68/x.. and ethical underpinnings of intergenerational solidarity and future generations and how the issue has been taken into consideration in policy-making at the national level in a variety of institutions. The report outlines options for possible models to institutionalize concern for future generations at the United Nations level, as well as suggesting options for the way forward. 2 A/68/x.. PRESS RELEASE ITV partners with viewability company Meetrics First measurements across all channels show viewability rates above industry-wide benchmarks ITV, the UK’s biggest commercial broadcaster, announces that it has partnered with Meetrics, a leading European software company for advertising measurement and analytics, to provide enhanced advertising campaign delivery validation for VOD advertising across ITV Hub platforms. As part of the partnership, Meetrics provides video viewability data and reporting for ITV Hub on connected TV platforms and In-App (Android and iOS) as well as desktop and mobile web campaigns. This enriches the reporting capabilities for VOD campaigns run on ITV Hub and demonstrates the high quality of ITV’s ad inventory on metrics that are important to agencies and advertisers. With the partnership, ITV underlines its commitment to very high transparency standards and quality controls for the benefit of its advertising customers. Meetrics is an independent vendor accredited for various services by the Media Rating Council and committed to strict privacy rules in full accordance with GDPR. With Meetrics as a partner ITV is breaking new ground by being the first broadcaster in the world to make use of the IAB Open Measurement SDK, which is considered the most rigorous standard for In-App viewability measurement. To date, average measurement for campaigns running across ITV Hub showed a viewability rate (according to the MRC definition) of 98%, which is far beyond average, compared to industry viewability benchmarks. The new viewability measurement and reporting will give advertisers huge confidence that ITV can deliver standards on human and viewability measures that outperform the VOD market. -

In this report I would like to study about Itv’s News channel functions and nature of works in ITV’s graphics hub etc. ITV is a 24-hour television news channel in the United Kingdom which Launched in 1955 as Independent Television. It started broadcasting from 1 August 2000 to 23 December 2005. Latterly only between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm when ITV4 cut its hours to half day in 2005 and analogue cable, presenting national and international news plus regular business, sport, entertainment and weather summaries. Priority was usually given to breaking news stories. There was also an added focus on British stories, drawing on the resources of the ITV network's regional newsrooms. As a public service broadcaster, the ITV network is obliged to broadcast programming of public importance, including news, current affairs, children's and religious programming as well as party election broadcasts on behalf of the major political parties and political events. Local TV Summary of responses to the Local Media Action Plan June 2011 1 Our aim is to improve the quality of life for all through cultural and sporting activities, support the pursuit of excellence, and champion the tourism, creative and leisure industries. 2 Local TV Introduction 1. In January 2011, DCMS published a Local Media Action Plan1 setting out options for the creation of a new network of local television services. This plan followed the Shott Review published in December 20102 which looked at the conditions necessary for commercially viable local TV to emerge in the UK. 2. The Local Media Action Plan invited expressions of interest from groups and organisations that had an interest in providing a network channel that would carry and support local services. In addition, DCMS invited comments and views on a range of other questions around provision of local TV. 3. In total, DCMS received 140 responses to the action plan. This was made up of 21 expressions of interest in operating some form of network channel (ranging from centralised models to not-for-profit models to locally owned models); 43 expressions of interest in providing a range of local services; 5 expressions of interest in providing nations-based (i.e. Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland specific) services; and 71 responses offering comments on the local TV policy proposition more generally. 4. A summary of the responses are set out at Annex A. A list of those who responded is set out at Annex B. Key considerations in determining the Local TV model 5. The Secretary of State’s objectives for local TV are a key part of the Government’s localism agenda. -
