Welcome to the 12th Colne 6.30pm Future Stars Race Grand Prix – part of Britain’s ® Elite Men’s Circuit Series 7.15pm Experience the thrills of street racing as the UK’s top Sprint for Success Race cyclists battle it out through our historic town! This year we’ve three exciting high speed races starting 8.15pm with the Future Stars race organised by Cycle Sport Colne Grand Prix Pendle and sponsored by Marsden Building Society. Young riders from around the region will compete for the 9.15pm first time on the Grand Prix circuit. Straight after, watch up and coming riders in the FORT Prize presentations on the podium VALE Sprint for Success race. Grand Prix night! It’s a fantastic opening to the Pendle Cycling Festival 2015 with lots of events, free guided rides and the all-important Stage 2 race. It’s coming to Pendle and the Ribble Valley for the first time on Monday 7 September with a stunning finish in Colne. Many world class riders have raced the Colne Grand prix since it started over decade ago. Here are just some of the legends who’ve sweated it out on our high speed circuit…

Bradley Wiggins CBE In 2012 ‘Wiggo’ became the first British rider to win the Tour de France. We saw him first… at the first ever Colne Grand Prix in 2004!

Mark Cavendish MBE The fastet road cyclist in the world raced the first Colne Grand Prix in 2014 – aged just 19. ‘Cav’ went on to win 25 Tour de France stages and was named Tour de France’s best sprinter of all Ed Clancy time by the French newspaper L’Equipe.

Ed Clancy MBE Four time world champion and world record holder ‘Iron Man’ Ed proved his mettle at the Colne Grand Prix with an awesome sprint to first place in 2013.

Ian Wilkinson Pendle’s own ‘superman’ won the Colne Grand Prix in 2008 and will be racing tonight. He’s a powerhouse who muscles his way to the front of a sprint, ‘Wilko’ as he’s also known, will also be racing in the Tour of Britain. Stage 2, Clitheroe to Colne on Monday 7 September will be the toughest of the international race.
