Frequently Asked Questions
1. What can be put in the bin? - Catalogs, Magazines, Newspapers, Junk Mail, Office Paper, Fax Paper, Notebooks, Folders. NO CARDBOARD OR PHONEBOOKS Please!
2. When will placement of the bin take place? - We will place your bin usually within a month of signing up with our program.
3. Will trash get in the bins? - The program has been running for over 10 years. There is less than 1% trash collected in these bins. In the unlikely event this becomes an issue, we will make you aware of the situation and work with you to resolve it.
4. When does the payment begin? - From ton 1.
5. What is the payment? - Please see the attached pay scale.
6. When is payment? - Monthly. Statements with checks usually arrive around the 15th of the following month
7. How often are the bins emptied? - The bins are on a regular schedule. Should you fill up prior to your next scheduled pickup, contact our office and we will schedule an additional pickup. If you are repeatedly filling up prior to your scheduled pickup, we will provide an additional bin, at no charge.
8. How is the weight of what we have collected determined? - There is a scale on the forks of the truck and the bin is weighed and recorded every pickup.
9. How much paper does a bin hold? - A bin holds between one and two tons of paper.
10. What is the size of the bin? - These brand new 7 cubic yard bins have dimensions of approximately 6 x 6 x 6 feet.
11. Can I put cereal boxes, chipboard, milk cartons, soda cartons, or food cartons of any kind in the bin? - No. We cannot recycle the above items to make newsprint. We cannot accept any paper from the bathroom or the kitchen to recycle. Local Fund-Raising!

Payment is based on the following monthly scale: 0--3.99 tons $5.00 per ton 4--7.99 tons $15.00 per ton 8 -tons and more $20.00 per ton
