The dust of the economic crisis is settling and the first signs of recovery are getting stronger, also for the entertainment industry. It was no foresight when we announced in the beginning of 2008 to take a break of 2 to 3 years. Our break started right after our performance for 57.000 spectators in in October 2008 and coincided with the economic crisis. The impact of the crisis made clear to us that we needed a new way to present our arena productions. We have followed the international discussions about the changes needed in our industry, which helped us to develop our new approach. We learned from past productions that introducing our high quality, grand scale 360 degree arena in a new market is always, at first, faced with scepticism. Recognition and appreciation, from both press and audience, comes only after experiencing one of our productions. Knowing this we propose the local partner a partnership-plan for a minimum of 3 years in which we expand, year by year, the market for our product. In the 1st year we start with a well-known opera which as production is less expensive. This way we are able to ‘open’ the market cautiously and get the worth-of-mouth working for us. In the following 2 years we bring the more popular titles, as well as adding more performances. Once the 1st year is extremely successful, we can expand the plan from 3 to 5 years by adding 2 more of our productions. At the moment we are working closely with several partners/cities to implement this concept, with the first performances starting in 2012/2013. In our new marketing approach we emphasize that our productions are a family-entertainment- product, for an audience between 8 and 100. More than ever our focus is on 1-to-1 communication with the use of the social media platforms. We also introduce a new brand name: ‘Companions 360opera’, to distinguish our productions from the regular in opera houses. In this brochure we present our product. We start with the 5 available arena-productions, followed by the productions we have done once, but can be adapted on demand. The last 3 productions in the brochure are our available versions. Details about the productions and the artists who have worked with us can be found on the last pages. People who have met me know that I have not only a passion for opera but also a desire to bring this little world of opera to a larger audience. With our 360 degree opera-approach for arenas and we have a prestigious and profitable product to make this happen! Peter Kroone Producer
