Berwick,

Congratulations to Cameron Whynot of Kentville who was selected 9th overall at this year’s QMJHL (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League) by the Sherbrooke Phoenix. The Annapolis Valley native has been a superb defenseman for the Wildcats at the Major Midget level as this season Whynot had 13 goals and 27 assists in 35 games. He also captained the Nova Scotia boys hockey team at this year’s Games in Red Deer, Alberta. The quality talents that Cameron has playing on both sides of the puck, has resulted in him being named NSMMHL (Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League) Top Defenseman this year, it is an indication that he is poised for great things going forward in his hockey career. With the Sherbrooke Phoenix adding Cameron Whynot to their team, they have added a top notch talented player that will benefit both the team and future development in Whynot’s career. The entire Valley Wildcats organization wants to congratulate Cameron on being a 1st round selection in the QMJHL Draft. Hope this is the latest of many great accomplishments and achievements in his hockey career going forward, as he is the latest Wildcats player to develop through our system and move onto higher levels of competition. Keep an eye on this talented defenseman as he looks to have a bright future in hockey. Once again, congratulations Cameron Whynot, put your best foot forward, and continue to excel in Sherbrooke, Quebec in the 2019 QMJHL season and into the future.

Sincerely,
