Harper Blocks Her WAY INTO RECORD BOOK • Senior Laura Harper’s block in the win over Boston College on Valentine’s Day broke the Maryland career record, which had stood for 28 seasons. Harper has had 196 blocks in her career, breaking ’s mark of 186 set from 1978-80. • Harper currently ranks 10th all-time in ACC history in career blocks, while her 1.7 career blocks average is in the top 15.

Toliver Selected Finalist for Top Point Guard Honor • Junior Kristi Toliver was selected a finalist for the Nancy Lieberman Award, presented to the nation’s top Division I women’s basketball player. Toliver is joined on the list by eight other point guards. • Toliver is the only point guard in the ACC on the list of final nominees. • Toliver is fourth in the nation in assists per game (7.5), threatening the ACC’s single-season record. The trio were named to the Wade Watch preseason candidate list. 2006 NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player Laura Harper is also back for the Terps. • Joining the Terrapins this season is the No. 2 recruiting class in the nation, which includes four Parade All-Americans. Freshmen Marah Strickland, who has started every game, and Drey Mingo were also WBCA and McDonald’s All-Americans.

Also Joining the Terps... • The sideline will also have some new faces. Joining head coach Brenda Frese and long-time assistant coach Erica Floyd are Daron Park, who spent three years at the University of Utah, and Diane Richardson, who is well known in the Washington, D.C. area as a successful high school coach.

Coming Up • The winners of the four regional sites move on to the NCAA Final Four in Tampa, Fla. The national semifinals is slated for Sunday, April 6, and the national champion is crowned on Tuesday, April 8. • The games will be televised nationally on ESPN and ESPN2.
