THE WAIT IS OVER • For two redshirts, the waiting is over. Redshirt sophomore Christie Marrone sat out the 2005-06 championship season because of transfer eligibilty rules after coming to College Park after one season at Virginia Tech. In her debut as a Terrapin at Middle Tennessee State, she knocked down her only shot attempt of the game, dishing off an assist in eight minutes. • Redshirt-junior Sa’de Wiley-Gatewood transferred out of Tennessee to Mary- land during the season last year and practiced with the Terrapins during the spring semester, while sitting out the rest of the school year because of NCAA transfer eligiblity rules. Because of her mid-season transfer, Wiley-Gatewood finally hit the hardwood on Dec. 21, 2006 at Loyoal, at the conclusion of the fall semester. Wiley-Gatewood will have 1.5 years of eligibility remaining.

What’s new • Emery Wallace is the only newcomer on the squad and is the only true freshman on the team. Hailing from Roanoke, Va., she played two seasons at Hidden Valley after transferring from Northside High. She scored 1,497 career points, grabbed 580 points ad made 106 three-pointers, en route to earning District Player of the Year honors, despite missing the first 10 games of her senior year while coming back from an ACL injury. • Wallace, who was a teammate of Kristi Toliver’s on the AAU Elkton Elks squad, was sidelined during the preseason with an injury. She is expected to be back on the court in December.
