The present study was conducted to estimate the gear used in the Payra River and species composition with this gear during the period of 1st august 2017 to July 2018. The data were collected every week in face to face interview through the study period. A wide variety of fishing gears were operated throughout the year in the study area for commercial fishing. From the study, a total of eighteen types of fishing gear were identified under nine major categorizes described as Gill nets (Current jal, Dandi jal, Chandi jal, Poa jal, Ramsos jal, Ayre jal), Seine net (Ber jal), Fixed purse net (Behundi Jal and Chargora jal), Lift nets (Dharma jal), Push net (Thela jal and Moiya jal) ,Cast net (Jhaki jal) Traps (Pungus Chai, Anta), Hook & Line ( Chip Barshi, Chara Barshi) and Wounding gear (Koach). -

The selected study areas are Kalapara and Patuakhali Sadar Upazila that are too vulnerable to agriculture practices. Field survey was conducted during 01st June to 30th July, 2015 to investigate the impact of submergence on Aman rice cultivation (ARC), existing adopted local adaptation practices with impacts and options to address the submergence problem. Primary data was collected through Focus Group Discussion (FGD), Individual Interview and Key Informant Interview methods and secondary data was collected from different secondary sources. A well-structured pretested questionnaire schedule was developed keeping in mind the objectives and variables under this study. After cyclone SIDR and AILA devastation, the rate of traditional ARC is decreasing every year and in 2015 it was 26.51%. Recently farmers have adopted new cropping practices and strategies like modern ARC in Aman season as single crop; Boro-Aus-Aman season as triple crop and Aus- Aman season as double crop are practicing. -

Combination of questionnaire interview, focus group discussions and crosscheck interviews were accomplished with key informants during data collection. Charberjal is operated in the shoreline of rivers, submerged chars and inundated agriculture land including tiny canals all over the coastal region of Bangladesh. A total of 80 species including finfish, freshwater prawn, crabs and mollusk was recorded under 22 families including 38 SIS and 26 threatened species during the study period. The recorded species was 60 finfish, 14 prawn, 4 mollusk and 2 crabs. Among the finfish rui, bata, mullet, khorsula and poa were the dominant species while aire, boal, bacha, ramsosh and tengra were the foremost species among catfish. Moreover, Macrobrachium rosenbargii was the most prevailing species among fresh water prawn while bele, phasa, puti, shol, dimua chingri and SIS were the most leading species among others. -

Inventory of LGED Road Network, March 2005, Bangladesh
The Chief Engineer Local Government Engineering Department PREFACE It is a matter of satisfaction that LGED Road Database has been published through compilation of data that represent all relevant information of rural road network of the country in a structured manner. The Rural Infrastructure Maintenance Management Unit of LGED (former Rural Infrastructure Maintenance Cell) took up the initiative to create a road inventory database in mid nineties to register all of its road assets country-wide with the help of customized software called, Road and Structure Database Management System. The said database was designed to accommodate all relevant information on the road network sequentially and the system was upgraded from time to time to cater the growing needs. In general, the purpose of this database is to use it in planning and management of LGED's rural road network by providing detailed information on roads and structures. In particular, from maintenance point of view this helps to draw up comprehensive maintenance program including rational allocation of fund based on various parameters and physical condition of the road network. According to recent road re-classification, LGED is responsible for construction, development and maintenance of three classes of roads, which has been named as Upazila Road, Union Road and Village Road (category A & B) in association with Local Government Institution. The basic information about these roads like, road name, road type, length, surface type, condition, structure number with span, existing gaps with length, etc. has been made available in the road inventory. Side by side, corresponding spatial data are also provided in the road map comprising this document. -
