    Pink Floyd - Division Bell 11-04-2019 15:00 CEST Pink Floyd feirer jubileum med nytt vinylslipp Pink Floyd Records feirer 25-års jubileet til The Division Bell, albumet fra 1994 som har solgt for mange millioner og inneholder den Grammy-vinnende låta "Marooned", med å gi ut en ny versjon. Den vil bli utgitt 7. juni som gjennomsiktig blå vinyl (lik den originale utgivelsen) fra 1994. The Division Bell var det siste studioalbumet som ble spilt inn med bandet: David Gilmour, Nick Mason og Richard Wright. Albumet gikk rett inn på 1. plass Storbritannia, USA, Australia og New Zealand, lå som nr. 1 i fire uker på den amerikanske Billboard-listen og har i dag solgt over 12 millioner eksemplarer. The Division Bell ble spilt inn i Astoria og Britannia Row Studios og majoriteten av tekstene ble skrevet av Polly Samson og David Gilmour. David Gilmour uttalte følgende: “The three of us went into Britannia Row studios, and improvised for two weeks. Playing together and starting from scratch was interesting and exciting, it kick-started the album and the process was very good, it was collaborative and felt more cohesive.” The Division Bell inneholder 11 låter inkludert "A Great Day For Freedom", "Keep Talking" (featuring a sampled Stephen Hawking), "High Hopes", og Pink Floyd’s eneste Grammy-vinnende låt, instrumental-låta "Marooned".     Cluster One Good afternoon. My name is Björgvin Rúnar Leifsson and this is an episode about Pink Floyd. In 1991, Mason, Gilmour, and their agent O'Rourke participated in the Carrera Panamericana racing in Mexico. Mason finished in 6th place along with his assistant, but Gilmour and O'Rourke collided from which Gilmour escaped with a few scars but O'Rourke broke his leg. Mason says in his book that they were lucky not to kill themselves and at the same time praises Wright for not letting himself become distracted by car racing. Instead he kept sailing on his yacht in the Greek Aegean. A year later, a video was released about the race with songs by Pink Floyd under the name "La Carrera Panamericana". There were some older songs primarily from "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" but also new songs, which are found nowhere else and two of them are credited to all three of them. This is the first time Mason and Wright were credited as co-authors since "Dark Side of the Moon" and "Wish You Were Here" respectively but as the existence of "La Carrera" is not common knowledge, most people think that the first credit to Wright after "Shine on" is on "The Division Bell" and to Mason not until "The Endless River". What was remarkable about these songs was that they were largely composed in a similar way to Pink Floyd's work in the early seventies and set the tone for "The Division Bell". Instead of bringing in demoes or ready-made songs they met with some of the musicians from the "Delicate Sound of Thunder" concerts, such as Gary Wallis, Guy Pratt and Jon Carin.

Crutchfield June 2020 Advisor: Chris GauthierDickey Author: Dalton J Crutchfield Title: Using Natural Language Processing to Categorize Fictional Literature in an Unsupervised Manner Advisor: Chris GauthierDickey Degree Date: June 2020 Abstract When following a plot in a story, categorization is something that humans do without even thinking; whether this is simple classification like “This is science fiction” or more complex trope recognition like recognizing a Chekhov's gun or a rags to riches storyline, humans group stories with other similar stories. Research has been done to categorize basic plots and acknowledge common story tropes on the literary side, however, there is not a formula or set way to determine these plots in a story line automatically. This paper explores multiple natural language processing techniques in an attempt to automatically compare and cluster a fictional story into categories in an unsupervised manner. The aim is to mimic how a human may look deeper into a plot, find similar concepts like certain words being used, the types of words being used, for example an adventure book may have more verbs, as well as the sentiment of the sentences in order to group books into similar clusters.
