Date:12/1/18 A Comparative Analysis of Educational Teaching in Shahnameh and Iliad Elhamshahverdi and dr.Masoodsepahvandi Abstract Ferdowsi's Shahnameh and Homer's Iliad are among the first literary masterpieces of Iran and Greece. These teachings include the educational teachings of Zal and Roudabeh, and Paris and Helen. This paper presents a comparative look at the immortal effect of this Iranian poet with Homer's poem-- the Greek blind poet. In this comparison, using a content analysis method, the effects of the educational teachings of these two stories are extracted and expressed, The results of this study show that the human and universal educational teachings of Shahnameh are far more than that of Homer's Iliad. Keywords: teachings, education,analysis,Shahname,Iliad. Introduction The literature of every nation is a mirror of the entirety of thought, culture and customs of that nation, which can be expressed in elegance and artistic delicacy in many different ways. Shahnameh and Iliad both represent the literature of the two peoples of Iran and Greece, which contain moral values for the happiness of the individual and society. "The most obvious points of Shahnameh are its advice and many examples and moral commands. To do this, Ferdowsi has taken every opportunity and has made every event an excuse. Even kings and warriors are used for this purpose. "Comparative literature is also an important foundation for the exodus of indigenous literature from isolation, and it will be a part of the entire literary heritage of the world, exposed to thoughts and ideas, and is also capable of helping to identify contemplation legacies in the understanding and friendship of the various nations."(Ghanimi, 44: 1994) Epic literature includes poems that have a spiritual aspect, not an individual one. -

THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY Persian 2704 Introduction to Persian Epic Instructor: Office Hours: Office: Email: No laptops, phones, or other mobile devices may be used in class. This course is about the Persian Book of Kings, Shahnameh, of the Persian poet Abulqasim Firdawsi. The Persian Book of Kings combines mythical themes and historical narratives of Iran into a mytho-historical narrative, which has served as a source of national and imperial consciousness over centuries. At the same time, it is considered one of the finest specimen of Classical Persian literature and one of the world's great epic tragedies. It has had an immense presence in the historical memory and political culture of various societies from Medieval to Modern, in Iran, India, Central Asia, and the Ottoman Empire. Yet a third aspect of this monumental piece of world literature is its presence in popular story telling tradition and mixing with folk tales. As such, a millennium after its composition, it remains fresh and rife in cultural circles. We will pursue all of those lines in this course, as a comprehensive introduction to the text and tradition. Specifically, we will discuss the following in detail: • The creation of Shahname in its historical context • The myth and the imperial image in the Shahname • Shahname as a cornerstone of “Iranian” identity. Iran 2018 International Religious Freedom Report
IRAN 2018 INTERNATIONAL RELIGIOUS FREEDOM REPORT Executive Summary The constitution defines the country as an Islamic republic, and specifies Twelver Ja’afari Shia Islam as the official state religion. It states all laws and regulations must be based on “Islamic criteria” and an official interpretation of sharia. The constitution states citizens shall enjoy human, political, economic, and other rights, “in conformity with Islamic criteria.” The penal code specifies the death sentence for proselytizing and attempts by non-Muslims to convert Muslims, as well as for moharebeh (“enmity against God”) and sabb al-nabi (“insulting the Prophet”). According to the penal code, the application of the death penalty varies depending on the religion of both the perpetrator and the victim. The law prohibits Muslim citizens from changing or renouncing their religious beliefs. The constitution also stipulates five non-Ja’afari Islamic schools shall be “accorded full respect” and official status in matters of religious education and certain personal affairs. The constitution states Zoroastrians, Jews, and Christians (excluding converts from Islam) are the only recognized religious minorities permitted to worship and to form religious societies “within the limits of the law.” The government continued to execute individuals on charges of moharebeh, including two Kurdish minority prisoners at Rajai Shahr Prison on September 8. Human rights groups raised concerns regarding the use of torture, forced confessions, and denials of access to legal counsel. On June 18, the government executed Mohammad Salas, a member of the minority Gonabadi Sufi Dervish Order, for allegedly killing three police officers during clashes between Gonabadi Sufis and security forces in February. -

Emai:[email protected] Tel: +989132294900 Abstract-Ferdosi's Shahnameh is the history of Iranian people fiction .What we read from Shahnameh is undoubtedly a subtle hint of a secret, mystery, sign and allusion. Accordingly, one of the most important issues in this venerable work is signs that represent evolution of social institutions. Therefore, the history of changes in matriarchy, forming a family and some points about the prominent role of women in society can be deduced from its stories. In this study the authors have considered Barthe, Culler and Ekou's theories to analyze the signs like females' authority, their right of ownership, their position and their characters. Key words: Ferdosi’s Shahnameh, signs, myth, matriarchy, position, ownership. I. Introduction Language is a system of signs and is formed from the combination of a cause (outlook) and an effect (mind and meaning).The connection between them is made through a contraction, a rule or an agreement that are accepted in the society. The form of language is considered very important since it can lead us to understand its infinite hidden meanings. The constituents of the language along with their signs should be studied to grasp the meanings. -

Abstract. The article reviews and compares the stylistic styles of the Shahnameh's symbols of Ferdowsi and Garshaspname Asadi Toosi and Iliad and Odyssey of Homer in literary and intellectual terms. Also, in this research, we will examine the characterization and imaging and weighting in Garshasbnameh, Iliad, Odyssey and Shahnameh. The results showed that the use of artistic traits in filling the weight of the poems of Iliad and Odyssey Homer and Shahmanah or Garshasbnameh was used by the well-known authors of this work as well as adjectives to complete the weight of the poetry. They formulate a combination of trait and personality name formula that fulfills the weighting requirements of the poem by applying them. On the other hand, in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, replacing the artistic trait, instead of the name of the people, serves a different structure of the womb that this structure not only helps in observing the weight of his poem but also provides a variety of vocabulary to express precise and precise details in the story. In the form of the content of Shahnameh and the Iliad and the epic Odyssey, there is a logical realm of urgency that ends with the rule of Ghazireh. Epic humans are signs of paradox. They are humble in their superiority and are victorious. -

Nationalism spirit will bring up confidence and national union in dealing with any foreign threats. Literature-sourced nationalism has become an important role in its exertion. It can be found in the most phenomenal literature in Persian, named Shah Nameh, written by Firdowsi that has made the people and the language of Persian risen out of “intellectual silence” during Arab conquest. In approximately three centuries, Persian territory was under Arab authority, though, Persian language has remained exist when other language in conquered territories were totally influenced by Arabic. In writings, some writers would always minimize the use of Arabic as a means of giving pressures on Arabic expanding influence in the region at that time. Keywords: nationalism, Firdowsi, Shahnameh, Iran, epic, heroes Introduction The word of Persia or Farsi often refers to a language name of Persian state, which is currently known as Iran. As Iran king request, the name of Persia has been changed into Iran in 1935. Since then, the name of Iran was commonly used by other countries in diplomatic terms. The original word of Pars or Fars was from a tribe name in Pars area, in southwest Iran, where ancient Greek people considered it as a common name of the area, it was then known as what it is in 600 BC after generating conquerors such as Cyrus (559-530 BC) and Darius (521-485 BC).
