The Drop-In Clinical Staff will make every effort to see you but please be aware that there is a cut-off point and depending on numbers and/or the nature of your visit you may not be seen and will be required to either make an appointment or attend the next Drop-In Clinic.

Please also note that patients are not seen in order of arrival, but dependent on their condition and the staff available. Consultations April 2013 may take up to 30 minutes and you may have to wait over two hours to be seen.

Sexual Health Clinics offer a full contraceptive service and screening for sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Services provided include STI screening incl. testing for HIV and other blood borne STIs, treatment for STIs, vaccination for Hepatitis where appropriate, partner notification, advice and provision of all reversible methods of contraception, including long acting methods (implants, injection & copper and hormone containing intrauterine devices/coils), emergency contraception, condoms, cervical smears, referral for male & female sterilisation, pregnancy tests, referral for abortion, medical gynaecology, advice on menopause & HRT, referral for sexual problems. Please note that certain clinics may be better suited for your individual needs, and it will usually be possible to direct you to the most appropriate clinic when you phone for your appointment. It is also possible to speak to a nurse over the phone for advice if you are unsure. When you attend for your appointment you may on occasions be advised to return to a different clinic to see another health professional if your problem cannot be fully addressed by the clinic doctor or nurse.
