Nordic co-operation has fi rm traditions in politics, the economy, and culture. It plays an important role in European and inter- national collaboration, and aims at creating a strong Nordic community in a strong Europe. Nordic co-operation seeks to safeguard Nordic and regional interests and principles in the global community. Common Nordic values help the region solidify its position as one of the world’s most innovative and competitive. The Nordic Council is a forum for co-operation between the Nordic parliaments and governments. The Council consists of 87 parliamentarians from the Nordic countries. The Nordic Council takes policy initiatives and monitors Nordic co-operation. Founded in 1952. The Nordic Council of Ministers is a forum of co-operation between the Nordic governments. The Nordic Council of Ministers implements Nordic co-operation. The prime ministers have the overall responsibility. Its activities are co-ordinated by the Nordic ministers for co-operation, the Nordic Committee for co-operation and portfolio ministers. Founded in 1971. Nordregio conducts strategic research in the fi elds of planning and regional policy. Nordregio is active in research and dissemina- tion and provides policy relevant knowledge, particularly with a Nordic and European comparative perspective. September 2008 Keywords: catering services in municipalities, public foodstuff procurement, tendering, local food, organic, Portaat Luomuun, EkoCentria, Lähikeittiöhanke, telephone survey This report is the first published report on the use of local food in almost all of Finland’s municipalities, and covers the use of local food products in public municipality catering fairly comprehensively. The report presents the results of a telephone survey for the catering managers of Continental Finland. The survey was a part of EkoCentria’s Sustainable Catering in Public Services Project in 2007 and was carried out by Local Food Advisors. The number of participating municipalities totals to 366, which is 92 % of municipalities in Continental Finland. The first hypothesis of the report was that the ratio of local products acquired is larger when the procurer is not part of any procurement circle. The second hypothesis was that preparing food from local ingredients is easier for kitchens that prepare fewer meals. Interviews were used to learn which foodstuffs in public catering come from local suppliers, are they put out to tenders separately and by whom, or are they acquired without tendering. The report takes a look at factors that enable and factors that reduce the usage of local food items. In addition, a search for kitchens that have cut their bulk purchases in order to favor local foodstuffs was conducted.

    Lions Club Ekenäs 50 år Lions Club Ekenäs Tryckplats: Ekenäs Tryckeri 2008 Presidentens förord Lions Club Ekenäs firar 50-årsjubileum i oktober 2008. Björn Björkvall, lektor i religion och filosofi vid Ekenäs samlyceum, tog initiativet till att grunda LC Ekenäs. Den 1 april 1958 bildades klubben och charterfesten hölls den 25 oktober samma år. Då LC Ekenäs grundades för 50 år sedan stod LC Lohja som fadderklubb. Vid olika jubiléer som hållits i vår klubb har det getts ut historiker. Nu vid 50-årsjubiléet ges den i en ny utformning som benämns jubileumsskrift. Först beskrivs klubbens tillkomst och lionsrörelsens uppkomst i Finland, varefter följer en allmän översikt över Lions Club Ekenäs verksamhet. Därefter berättar den enda kvarvarande chartermed- lemmen Johan Rappe om sina hågkomster. I specialtexter skrivna av lionsbröder som har varit länge med i klubben och i specialintervjuer kan man läsa om olika aktiviteter. Ladylions har sedan början aktivt medverkat i klubbens verksamhet och de har fått en egen text i jubileumsskriften. Jubileumsskriften har sammanställts av Mårten Kevin och för layouten står Kaj Koivumäki. Tack vare befolkningens välvilliga inställning har vi kunnat ha vår mångsidiga verksamhet, vari också har ingått större projekt, såsom den av barnen högt uppskattade Lions Park. Den senaste och fjärde större donationen gäller ljugarbänken som överläts till Ekenäs stad på sommaren inför klubbens 50-årsjubileum. Klas Dahlqvist President i LC Ekenäs Bengt Björkholm 18.1.1927-17.8.2008 LC Ekenäs fick två månader före sitt 50-årsjubileum sorgebu- det att den äldsta, aktiva klubbmedlemmen Bengt Björkholm hade avlidit. Broder Bengt var aktiv inom klubben in i det sista.

    Pirkanmaa PIRELY:n SEURANTARAPORTTI kehittämissuunnitelmassa esitettyjen hankkeiden toteutuminen asetettujen suositusten suhteen /2012 Pirkanmaan vesihuollon kehittämissuunnitelman päivitys Kehittämissuunnitelman (2006) tausta Pirkanmaan vesihuollon kehittämissuunnitelman laadinta käynnistettiin vuonna 2004. Suunnitelman laadinta oli monivaiheinen prosessi, jossa lähdettiin liikkeelle nykytilan kartoittamisesta ja tavoitteiden asettamisesta. Tämän pohjalta, tiiviissä yhteistyössä kuntien kanssa kartoitettiin kehittämistarpeet ja vaihtoehtoiset kehittämistoimenpiteet. Vaihtoehtoisia ratkaisuja arvioitiin mm. taloudellisesta ja toiminnallisesta sekä ympä- ristöllisestä näkökulmasta. Vertailun perusteella päädyttiin lopulliseen suunnitelmaesi- tykseen, joka on koottu julkaisuksi (Pirkanmaan ympäristökeskus: alueelliset ympäris- töjulkaisut 411). Kehittämissuunnitelman ja sen vaihtoehtojen ympäristövaikutusten arviointi sekä ylei- sön kuuleminen toteutettiin nk. SOVA-lakiin pohjautuen (SOVA-laki = laki viran- omaisten suunnitelmien ja ohjelmien ympäristövaikutusten arvioinnista (200/2005)). SOVA-lain mukainen ympäristöarviointi toteutettiin tiiviissä yhteistyössä alueen kun- tien kanssa. Suunnitelmasta prosessin aikana annetut lausunnot ja mielipiteet otettiin mahdollisuuksien mukaan huomioon suunnitelman viimeistelyssä. Kehittämissuunnitelma valmistui vuoden 2005 lopulla.
