We presented Jack Merrill a plaque and a check for his outstanding service to the association as Vice President from 2003 to 2009 and as Newsletter Editor from 2003 to the present time. Jack wasn’t at the reunion, so we gave them to Richard Clubb who presented them to Jack at their Annual Christmas USSVI Base party in Bartow, . Our first Reunion SAPO Game winners were Terry Kopansky and Arlene Weinfurter who tied with 10,000 points and Enola Stokes in 3rd Palace. Originally we had scheduled the business meeting for Friday at 8 AM. However, many of the attendees had travel home plans for Friday morning and requested that we conduct the Business Meeting at the Banquet. 4 USS Sea Poacher (SS406) Association Volume #9 Issue #1 Ships Stores New Item: Ray Krivacsy paintings (Continued from Page Three) Our own Ray Krivacsy TM 1952-1953 has painted the USS Sea Presidents Poacher at the pier in 1952. Ray gave the painting to Captain William Gibson at his change of command ceremony in 1953. Column Ray has generously agreed to make 18.5” by 15” print copies ($20) and 21.5” by 18” canvas copies ($35) available via ships stores. Many attendees left for home this day and we were able to see each other one more time at breakfast. Some of us stayed and caught a few more shows and then left on Saturday, November 13 for home.

Ships Stores New Item: Richard DeRossett paintings The Renown Marine Artist Richard DeRosset has made us two framed paintings showing the USS Sea Poacher with the Step Sail and during the Cuban Missile Crises with the North Atlantic Sail . We are now offering 10” X 23” prints for $20 including postage, and 15” X 28” high quality canvas reproductions for $30 including postage . He also completed a third painting of the WWII Version showing USS Sea Poacher’s gun battle with the Japanese ships in 1945. It is 17” high by 39 “ long on canvas and sells for $40 including postage.
