The tittle is “Flamenco Music, my passion, my roots and my artistic passport” and the common denominator in it is Flamenco Music and especially it’s Rhythms. The main areas of the work are a large “Research Process” combining looking for publications about Flamenco Music and an analytic reading of them. “Creative exploration” that includes composition, arrangement and recording of music pieces that have Flamenco Rhythms as an essential element. Starting a long term project that consists in creating a learning source in the form of three books, with the tittle “Fundamentals of Flamenco Rhythms and Flamenco Percussion” 3 The compilation presented in this project includes a revised draft of Book I. By the time of the graduation the work hasn’t found a via of publication yet.

    THE POLITICS OF CARNIVAL “Living like Queens”: Gender Conflict and Female Counter-Hegemony in Contemporary Cádiz Carnival Katerina Sergidou Panteion University, Athens, Greece and University of the Basque Country, San Sebastián, Spain KEYWORDS ABSTRACT Carnival This article focuses on the feminist mobilization that has characterized Cádiz Carnival since Cádiz 2011, leading to the elimination of the Ninfas y Diosas (Nymphs and Goddesses) custom, a Spain variant of the Reina de las Fiestas (Queen of Traditional Fiestas) ceremony introduced under Francisco Franco’s dictatorship (1939–75). By calling into question the representation of women gender in Carnival celebrations, female festive organizations have challenged the old, male-dominated equality festival traditions and transformed Cádiz Carnival. Their activism has carried over into everyday dictatorship life, as female Carnival groups have created their own community and translated the artistic manifestations of their desire for equality into public policy. Using oral testimonies and archival democracy material gathered during ethnographic fieldwork in the city, I trace the history of the reina and feminism ninfas customs and analyze a variety of material related to their birth, evolution, and recent counter-hegemony discontinuation. The ultimate purpose of this article is to map the tensions embedded in both the festival and contemporary Spanish society and to show how the Carnival stage can become a space where embodied feminist counter-hegemony is performed, thus contributing to the slow democratization of Spanish society.   • Humor Y Sentimiento En El Carnaval Gaditano
    1 Humor y sentimiento, una dualidad fundamental del Carnaval Gaditano José Antonio Hernández Guerrero En contra del tópico repetido hasta la saciedad de que el Carnaval Gaditano es sólo la fiesta de la alegría, el tiempo de la guasa, el ámbito de la broma, el espacio de la risa o el escenario del cachondeo, cualquiera que se haya asomado a él habrá advertido que esta definición es parcial, incompleta y simplista. Sólo describe una cara, un capítulo, de esta rica enciclopedia polifacética. Si profundizamos un poco, podremos concluir que, por un lado, la risa no es una manera frívola de eludir y de olvidarse de los problemas sino que, por el contrario, constituye una forma amable de expresar el desacuerdo con una realidad dolorosa o injusta, y, por otro lado, que el sentimiento que aquí se representa y canta tampoco es una reacción blanda de aceptación pasiva y desesperanzada, sino una expresión, delicada y comprometida, de solidaridad, de “acompañamiento”. Hemos de afirmar, además, que un análisis más detenido y más minucioso de las letras, de las melodías y de los tipos1 nos lleva a la conclusión de que, hasta las composiciones más graciosas, encierran cierto poso de pena, y hasta las más sentimentales, contienen su migaja de sal. En este análisis teórico -contenido fundamental de mi reflexión- me limito a apuntar, de manera breve, las claves geográficas, históricas, antropológicas y estéticas que explican esta dualidad. Después mostraré algunas coplas ilustrativas. A poco que reflexionemos sobre los comportamientos específicamente humanos, descubriremos que la dualidad es la pauta que orienta todos nuestros actos y la fórmula que explica todas nuestras actividades: Como es sabido, la razón funciona de forma binaria; el pensamiento opone la verdad y el error, la inteligencia artificial -la informática- posee una base binaria: cero y uno, la ética distingue entre la bondad y la maldad, la biología separa el macho y la 1 El tipo está integrado por la indumentaria que caracteriza la idea que pretende representar cada agrupación.

Covering an area of 351 Km2, it has a popula- tion of 42,615 people, clustered around three main nuclei. It is the administrative capital for the surrounding district, with a popula- tion reach of close to 175,600 inhabitants. The closest airports are Malaga (internatio- nal), which is 1 hour away, and Seville and Granada (1.5 hours away). The two nearest high-speed railway stations are Puente Genil, 25 km away, and Cordoba, 45 minutes away. In the Middle Ages, Lucena was an example of tolerance and harmonious co-existence between different cultures. In the 13th Cen- tury, Lucena was a gathering place for Jewi- sh, Arabic and Christian intellectuals, writers and musicians. [email protected] RESUMEN El carnaval de Cádiz y las agrupaciones que participan en el COAC (Concurso Oficial de Agrupaciones Carnavalescas) tienen un número de seguidores que cada año aumenta. Este incremento se debe a la difusión de los medios de comunicación y las redes sociales, pero sobre todo a su cantidad y calidad creativa. Es una manifestación cultural que cada vez está cobrando mayor relevancia académica. Este artículo tiene como objetivo estudiar lo que siempre permanece oculto a los seguidores y espectadores (e incluso entre los propios autores y creadores de las coplas): el proceso de creación audiovisual de las agrupaciones (letra, música y puesta en escena). Aquí, además de hacer una panorámica sobre los procesos de creatividad de los autores, se analiza por primera vez si, independientemente de la modalidad, siguen un ritmo parecido; si bien cada una es distinta; o si tienen tiempos y organizaciones comunes. Mediante una metodología cualitativa y de seguimiento semanal del proceso creativo a diversos autores de cada modalidad concursante, este artículo da respuesta a las cuestiones antes señaladas sobre las agrupaciones del carnaval de Cádiz, las cuales pertenecen a la cultura popular con gran potencial comunicacional.
